??Hide/Lock File Folder??

So, my hubby and I swing and we have pictures of other couples (nude) on our computer. I would like to secure these photos along with some nudes of us. Anyone know how to do this or know of FREE software to do it? I'm using Vista so it's not as simple as it would have been in XP.... Any suggestions are much appreciated! I either want to be able to lock the folder or hide it all together.

Please help secure my nudie pics!

I'd recommend truecrypt (http://truecrypt.sf.net) as it creates a virtual drive that is encrypted, when you want to access the files you supply the encryption key when you are done you unmount the drive, very easy to use and more secure than keeping the files unencrypted.

I'm using Vista so it's not as simple as it would have been in XP.

Before you start downloading and encrypting, check Vista's Help file for "Compressed Folders" -- starting with Win ME, a Compressed Folder" was basically a ZIP file, with all of the encryption and password protection features of WInZip.

However, the most secure method of hiding/protecting sensitive images/information is to not have it on your computer at all (except when you're viewing/editing.) Transfer everything to removable media of some sort -- flash drive, memory card, USB drive, "memory stick," etc -- and hide it in a lock box under your bed.

I second the idea of removable media, which could even be a CD or DVD....also the quick and simple way would be to download a program that would encrypt the files as already mentioned.

Simply put your folder inside another folder with a nondescript name. Place it somewhere it is not likely to be looked at.

This is just not secure enough for me.... It's taking a chance and I really don't want to do that and my friends deserve more security than that.

I'm think I'm going to do the removable media idea. I just wanted an easier solution..... I'm also going to look into the other ideas of compressing and such.
