hiccups

I taught high school for 16 years. When a student got the hiccups...I asked them to come to the front of the class. When they got there I handed them a $10 bill. I told them they had to give it back when the hiccups stopped.

In the entire 16 years..I never had a student hiccup again one time. The embarrassment of being in front of the class and walking back to their seat with my money worked every time. By the way...they always tried to fake it.

Always got my money back. Of course if they tried to keep it...I would fail them.....

I am also a high school teacher, and I can not think of anything more humiliating to do to a student.

Skibum----my classes were always a very comfortable place for students...in fact we had a blast every day..You missed the spirit with which this was done...In fact..students often faked the hiccups to get the ten bucks...trust me..we all enjoyed it very much..and the hiccups went away..
