The British have just wheeled out their latest state of the art weapon. In their continuing effort to destroy the Iraqi army while minimising civillian casualties, the RAF are going to drop laser guided concrete blocks on Iraqi tanks!

Is this a sign of British ingenuity? Or just that we can't afford the cost of firing too many more cruise and Tomahawk missiles?

Obviously the manufacturers can't keep up with the demand for cruise and Tomahawks but a good old concrete mixer can go on for ever!

Actually, if it works then it may be a good way to minimise casualties in built up areas. IF it works.

Are you kidding? The 'collatteral damage' could be used in the rebuilding! Laser Blocks, Cruise grout, Precsion Guided Paint!!

Definitely ingenuity!

Definitely ingenuity, and I hope the Americans follow suit.

I've had the chance to visit a practice range and seen what the impact of a 1,000 pound practice bomb is like. It's very early as impressive as a live bomb drop, but without the noise and concussion.

It does seem fitting to be using this weapon in a region where stoning someone to death is an acceptable form of execution.

Perhaps they could develop the a cluster block for the Basra citizens who have celerated their first day of freedom by looting the hospitals. :(

Almost seems like a waste of precision guided laser equipmet, strapping it to a ton of concrete :D

Damn, you beat me to it. I was thinking the same thing. ;)

And honestly, I wouldn't want to be under a 1000 lb block of anything dropped from that height. It's a pretty good idea.

'Course, all of our greedy, imperialist defense contractor's are probably shitting in their gold plated bathrooms right now. Wait, that's Saddam that has those.
