I have tried to resist the evil brain waves that come out of the television that get me to tune in to CBS every Wednesday night, but my will is weak. Alas, I was so glued to the edge of my seat last night. My heart was racing really fasy wondering who would be the next to get kicked off and I'm not even on that damn Island!!! I had secretly been rooting for Gervaise and when he got voted off, my heart sunk. It ruined the rest of my night. Now, I'm rooting for Rudy. Did anyone see it last night? Rudy is so hilarious with his nonchalant ways and the way he says what's on his mind. The two hour season finale is next week and I can hardly wait. I know this sounds really pathetic but I had a dream about this show last night. I think I might possibly need some help.
Anyway, are there any Survivor fans out there? If so what is it about this show that makes it #1? It's certainly not the good looking men (i.e., naked Richard and Rudy), and it's not a lot of action, so what is it's appeal?

Eve; We watch Survivor to, but I don't think that we are as obsessed as you are, but we love that show it is just totally cool. I loved last night show when they were all covered in the mud it was so cool to watch. I too am looking forward to next weeks show also.

Well, I anticipate the coming of Wed nights, hoping that my most hated cast members get voted off. I want Richard to be one of the final 2 so I can get to see his face as the other person gets voted as the winner of the million dollars. I expect Richard and Rudy to turn on Sue.

It's nice to know that other people watch Survivor. My wife and I tape it each week so we can stop and talk about things we notice. Granted, we don't have cable and are easily impressed with anything that isn't a rerun.

Why is it #1? I think people like shows that allow them to imagine what they would do in the same situation. Sort of living vicariously thru the people on TV. The allure is definetely NOT the guys and gals on the island, they couldn't be anymore blah.

Is Survivor the US version of Big Brother? Just so I know to avoid ANY thread than mentions it in the title! I'm sick of hearing about the UK one already!

I think Survivor is the US version of Robinson Project

.. which is the follow up of Big Brother (sort of). It is not sent on a daily basis but weekly.
The bunch of guys and girls are sent to an isolated island and have to survive there and each week they choose one person amongst them to leave the island

To me the fact that you have comedy, competition, drama, and heart ache(when a person gets voted off) is what makes the show. Tha combined with the fact that these are ordinary people from across the country is what makes it appealing to me.

I can't wait to see Sue get her ugly ass voted off and Richard though a smart man, needs to go as well. Rudy will be victorious.

After next week's show the start of the next one will be a long time. The second installment of the Survivor show, which takes place in the outback of Australia is due to start airing the day after the super bowl.

I know me too. Is there life after survivor??? And Richard? I wanted Kelly to win. And I think what susan said was nasty! Oh well I hope it was worth it for them.

Well I gave people the option now instead of just ruining for them. I just finished watching the show after survivor and saw them all now and what they had to say. I am just waiting for David Lettermans show.

Richard blows! I was extremely disappointed when that fat machiavellian nudist prick won.

For the most part I couldn't empathize with any of them. It was "nip and tuck" who I despised more Richard or Susan.

I was cheering for Rudy. At times he was an ass but he never tried to be something he wasn't and always seemed to be "strait shooter".

On to the Outback!

I was laughing so hard when Sue told off Kelli because she was accusing Kelli of the exact same thing she did. She was so bitter, that it was hilarious. I kind of figured that Richard would win the minute he removed his hand from the pole because he knew Kelly would vote Rudy off. As much as I hated Richard, he did play the game better than any of them, and he was pretty up front that he was in it for the money. As for Kelli, she was the dummy. She should have voted Richard out from the first tribal meeting because she probably would have won against Sue. Just my opinion.
