For those who wondered were i was i have been in the hospital all week.

I went in sunday because everything was blurry when asked to read the eye chart my left eye i could not get past the 4th line and with my right eye i could not get past the 2nd line.

So they checked my blood sugar and it was 437 so they admitted me into the hospital.

Now i have to use insulin my sight is coming back but it is not completely back but they said it will clear up.

So now i have something else to live with.

So sorry you ended up at hospital

:p

Hi Back.

Hope the meds work ok for you. Must have been a bit scary.

Moon

It was scary i was worry that i would lose my sight.

I did eat a lot of candy and regular pop now i will drink diet and stop eating candy.

The shots are not that bad it's under control now.

But i'm not going to let this get me down.

A couple of IMPORTANT diet tips for you...

Cut down on the amount of starch that you eat. Eat very little pasta as it shoots your blood sugars sky high. Eat whole wheat bread, not white. Try switching to brown rice if you can. Protein is a good thing. Fruit is good but should be limited as it also shoots your sugars up high.

And AVOID alcohol. Alcohol has the initial phase of raising the blood sugars high but then it makes them drop very very low overnight. You will go into insulin reactions overnight if you are not careful.

Zantac.. Welcome back. I was wondering about you.. Good to see everything is ok.

not only what bratcat says.. but also.. WATCH YOUR CARB INTAKE! Carbs are sneaky little bastards..they lurk in things you had no idea they were in...and they can shoot your sugar up too. Also.. use Splenda instead of sugar.. and avoid things with Equal in them. That shit is bad for you.

Switch to drinking water.. instead of diet soda... Limit the amount of soda you take in..

any questions.. don't hesitate to pm me.. (or *bratcat*.. i'm sure she won't mind). I'm not diabetic.. but my mother is. And being her caregiver I've had to take a lot of classes on the subject.

Growing up you here all the stories lke you have to eat food that is crap and the needles hurt.

Well the needles do not hurt and hey told me i can eat jus about anything i want as long as it is in moderation they served me roast beef and mash potatos turkey sandwichs, pizza, pancakes, bacon just 2 pieces.

I ate better in the hospital then at home i'll fix meals ahead of time and stick it in freezer and nuke it when ready.

I had three meals a day and a 9:30pm snack a half sandwich.

Now i have an insentive to lose weight then i can more likely stop taking insulin.

I'm going to learn to live with this as i'm doing with arthritis, and chrones( not sure of the spelling )
if i let this get to me because if you do then you won't enjoy life.

Thanks for all the support.

 :rose:
