My baby turns 3 Sunday(all together now.....AWWWWWWWW) and we are having her party Saturday. I need ideas to keep kids busy for at least an hour. Any suggestions??? The kids will be from 3-10.

Cmon......you can do this. I have total confidence.

McDonalds. Cheap. They supply the food. Built in playground. No cleanup. Everyone leaves happy.

hide and go seek, duck duck goose, hot potato (just warm it in the microwave for about 20 seconds.. then they can touch it and it wont burn them), pin the tail on the donkey (use double sided tape.. or something like it instead of thumbtacks), plus cake and ice cream, presents..

and if all else fails, have tons of balloons.. they'll have a ball just chasing those around the room

Treasure hunt....????? Damn, brat, you are good for somethings. That could keep em busy for awhile.....I got lots of woods!!!!!!!!

when im bord i like to play on lit becuse ppl r nice here

maybe they wood like lit

When I do parties with different age groups...

I do a scaveger hunt, but I get the older ones to help with the younger ones.

I use things that are easy to find and place them where nothing will get broke.

I also like to take them to Chuck E Cheese's ;)

why dont u like lit

Because it's a birthday party for a kid, you moron.

What exactly goes on in that brain that makes you think suggesting porn for kids is a GOOD idea?

Back ON topic...

Make a bunch of suger cookies before hand, and lay out frosting, candy sugar decorations, and little baggies tp put them in when they are done.

Then, have something like the christmas ornaments to decorate. Wal-Mart around here sells little wooden cut out ones with pictures pre-printed on them, and they come with paint, for like $6 or $7. Might have to pick up some extra paint (think DOLLAR STORE!!) and brushes.

Those two prjects alone can keep most of the kids busy for a while. Have a supply of kids video's or music on hand to play in the back ground, as well. Maybe holiday type.

Do some kind of craft ( you can find numerous ideas that are affordable and fun using a search engine )

Decorate cookies/cupcakes with frosting and candy

Set up a coloring station and offer different kinds of coloring pages (also found online), crayons, colored pencils, markers.

Treasure Hunt

Musical Chairs

Pinjata

There's a ton of things you could do, but most importantly -- HAVE FUN!!!

OMG :) Oh that is tooooo funny! That's insane. Those kids can barely read! Ohhhh my god :) Plus with like 10 kids they'd have to go to the library... the cops'd be there pretty damn fast.

That's beyond insane.

Good luck with the party.

I love planning birthday parties. Two of my kids were born in August. One on the 17th and one on the 24th so we always have a huge bash on the weekend between or as close to both of those days as possible.

This year we had a pool, a water balloon fight (adults included), scavanger hunt and a huge bar b que with burgers, dogs and salmon. Oh it was great. It lasted 12 hours (ok, the adults lasted 12 hours, kids didn't :D )

For kids of that age, the treasure hunt would be a great idea. You can do a search of the web for party ideas also. I didn't save any of the pages i found, but there are some great ones out there. Most important thing is, is to have fun. And don't get stressed if things don't go exactly as planned.:)

hey...I had to to a party for my nephew to months who just turned 4yrs a month ago and used a book called "The Ultimate Book of Kid Concoctions" and in it has EVERYTHING you need to keep kids busy for hrs....hope this helps...and good luck... :)

Mask Making. Generally you can go on a website for kids (NeoPets usually is good, safe content, and cute animals) and print out face masks, then get markers, safe glue, glitter, scissors, stickers, feathers, etc. Let them at it and they even make their own party favors. Get some elastic ribbon or string, and let them put them on. Treasure hunts are good, as long as you put clear perameters on where they can go (Woods can hide alot of little kids and create panic). Another thing to do is rent a costume (Community Theaters do alot of costume rentals around this time of year) and have a significant other dress up in it, looks a bit cheesy, but at 3 years old, they love it. Another thing to do is have them create Pectorals (Egyptian necklaces) out of paper and decorate them. The Bonus to the Pectorals is that if you use something big enough, it serves as a catch all for cake, ice cream, juice and cookie crumbs. Just remember, no scary animal costumes, and no clowns, that way you can avoid having a little one start screaming. (Another thing I learned from helping with family reunions and the kids section there of, set up a small rest area with alot of pillows and comfortable things in doors, and have a quiet area where they can go for a few minutes). If you can get a couple of friends to help out, face painting books and paint sets are available at most craft stores, and are fairly easy to follow.
