So the bet was, pick each others avatar for a day.

I asserted that Bidens laughing/unprofessional/child like behavior would be a major topic today and not his overall superior performance on rhetoric. I further asserted his behavior would cost him what should have been a clear win.........

While I am sure there are some articles out there were his smiling was not a major subject, I can not find any. Lets look at CNN's headline:

"Stats, grins and 'malarkey'"

Lets look at their poll:

Ryan 48
Bidden 44

Do you want to argue CNN is biased toward Republicans?

So do you concede or should we call in the judge?

AP is also focusing on the laughter..FYI

Here are some headlines ( many are biased sources)

CNN POLL: R 48% B 44%...
Chris Wallace: I've never seen a candidate as disrespectful as Biden...
Borger: Came Off As Condescending...
Hume: 'Cranky Old Man'...
Noonan: 'The old man pushed, and the kid pushed back'...
Biden Interrupted Ryan 82 Times?
Raddatz -- 31 times...
AP: 'Laugh, chuckle, grimace, grin, smirk, goofy face'...
RNC AD: THE LAUGHTER...
CNN: Raddatz 'the third debater'...

We agreed to let Perg decide.

I don't see that "dominating" the headlines as you said.

True.....dominating could be seen as too strong of a word and is subjective. I should have been more clear.

We will await the judge.

who did we pick as the judge... BB right? :D

PS: I would have coincided instead in your position instead of hoping for a techniacalty......

I made the bet based on your wording.

Next time, say what you actually mean. :D

Interesting day-after debate spin.

One day after Biden's savage curb-stomping of feckless Ayn Rand worshipper Ryan, the press coverage is literally all over the map.

Fox has their predictable brave face on, the Washington post has gone all-mealy mouthed.

The two most interesting accounts, though, are the LA Times and the Christian Science Monitor, two "lamestream media" routinely pilloried by True Believers.

These two organizations seem to have sent their theater critics to the debates. Long on analysis of pauses, sighs, frowns and laughs and precious little on the actual substance of the debate.

I'm just happy I live in a different country.

I watched 15 minutes of the debate last night.

I was so disgusted with Bidens laugh track that I turned it off.
There was no point in watching a clown like that. I knew I wouldn't hear a serious reply from him.
He reminded me of the dumbass president he works for.

Good luck with your election:rolleyes:

Over in another thread I called it a draw. And it appears the the polls and comments are bearing that out so far.

Any advantage that 'Bloviating' Joe had based on experience was offset by the format being unfriendly to his style.

Joe is out of the senate where debates are mostly long winded, off topic, oratories as opposed to the house where time is tightly controlled. Both candidates styles in last nights debate, if you can call it a debate, reflected their respective legislative backgrounds. Essentially it was an "I talk, you talk" session primarily aimed at their parties base.

Neither candidate turned in what anyone would term a 'stellar' performance. On the other hand neither candidate damaged the head of the ticket.

As far as the independents go, I doubt that Joe made any new friends. But whether he did damage there remains to be seen.

The debate or the bet?

Well, all I'm hearing and reading is about 'Bloviating' Joe's body language, smirking, and generally rude behavior. But anyone that has spent anytime watching Cspan-2 knows that that's just who Joe is, nothing personal towards Ryan. He's just a snarky son of a bitch, always has been.

Thinking back you used to watch C-span on occasion yourself. So I'd say you made a safe bet. :)

Ishmael - August 7, 1945

I can see that Democrats are getting all excited over the latest war news. It's important to remember, though, that this is just one bomb. Sure, it took out the city of Hiroshima but my sources tell me there were very few Japanese troops in Hiroshima to begin with. Killing civilians is a war crime, although with a Democratic congress it's highly unlikely we'll see President Truman before a military tribunal anytime soon.

It's becoming increasingly obvious that President Truman cannot make the difficult decision to commit our troops to war in the Japanese theater. We have battalions of Marines, highly trained Marines, ready to invade Japan and make short work of the Yellow Peril.

Instead, President Truman want to seek headlines by dropping a bomb...a single bomb!...on some backwater Japanese city when he should be taking the fight to Tokyo.

Most folks would agree that this "one stinking bomb affair" is an embarassing debacle for America but especially for the Democrats. 1948 can't get here soon enough. Hopefully the Republicans will nominate Doug MacArthur.

Biden showed Ryan's youth and inexperience and Ryan highlighted his inability to provide specifics around his and Romney's plans despite being asked multiple times to do so. I don't think that is going to help get independents' votes.

On substance, Biden clearly won. How that plays out is another story.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. And all the blind partisans on the right are talking up how Ryan wiped the floor with 'Bloviating' Joe. The morning after polls kinda reflect that, don't they? (42-44?) Both sides are jumping up and down yelling, "We won, we won."

The true 'winner' is the one that either impressed, or failed to piss off, the 16% NOT shown in the polls.

But I'll tell you this, if, as a democrat candidate, you have Chris Matthews wincing, you may have a problem.

When your only proof of a win is the perception that your candidate was bullied, that's not saying much.

Especially considering how Ryan was going on about how weak democrats look. :D

Get a clue. That was their job. If you believe last nights performance was a debate you have already started under a delusional cloud.

But in retrospect ole 'bloviating' Joe did lay a land mine for Obama in the next debate. Joe flat ass came out and stated in no uncertain terms that better security was NOT requested for the Benghazi mission. This after sworn testimony before congress, by more than one witness, that indeed more security WAS requested. Leaving Obama the choice of either doubling down or repudiating ole Joe. Neither choice is going to help his cause in a debate on Foreign Policy, is it? And that issue isn't going to go away so you can bet your bottom dollar that that subject is most certainly going to come up.

And to be honest with you, I was a little surprised that the moderator pushed ole Joe on that one until he did cough up that little gem.

I saw that much in the 15 minutes I watched...it was enough.

Democrats haven't done anything for the economy in 4 years and the Republicans don't have any better idea how to cure the problems.
