I spent yesterday over at Toms place fabricating a new firing pin for an old Iver-Johnson pistol. While we were working the subject of Ornyx hunting came up.

He showed me pictures of the hunts he was on and described the hunts. And went through the experiences he encountered while he was with Game and Fish.
Cutting to the chase, they're hard to bring down and there's nothing in your armory up to the task. His call is a 300WM min. You can count on the avg. shot being in the 200-300yd window.
See that hump on their back? It's called the "Lion sacrificial muscle." If you're even a little high with the shot, that's what you hit and it doesn't faze them in the least.
