LA police testing knife 'found on old OJ Simpson property'
4 March 2016
From the section US & Canada

LA police are testing a knife said to have been found at a former home of OJ Simpson, whose acquittal at his 1995 murder trial captivated the US.

Someone claiming to be a construction worker gave an off-duty police officer the knife some years ago and he kept it, thinking the case was closed.

Police recently recovered the knife and are testing it for DNA and hair samples.
Simpson had been accused of killing his ex-wife and her friend in June of 1994.
But a jury found the former American football star not guilty after a dramatic televised trial.

Police cast some doubt on whether the knife was connected to the OJ Simpson case at a news conference on Friday, saying it could be "bogus".

"If this story is accurate, you'd think anytime you come into contact with evidence that you should submit it to investigators," said Captain Andrew Neiman of the LAPD. "I don't know why that didn't happen."

Citing police sources, NBC News reported that the knife was a utility-type knife and was not consistent with the one used in the crime.

Good story, but I just cant imagine this being believable. Although anything is possible....Clark and the rest were slightly over their heads with this investigation, so who knows.

Is this the same knife they found the other day or did they find another knife? How many pocket knives does one lose over the course of a lifetime?

It could literally have Nicole and Ron's blood with OJ's semen all over it with a note attached reading
"6/6/1994 - I killed my wife and her lover tonight.
-Orenthal"
and it still would not matter. He cannot be tried for the same crime twice.
Not in California, anyway.

How is OJ's search for the real killers going?

he is a bit tied up these days. I still don't understand why he thought he could rob at gunpoint, sports memorabilia which he thought was stolen from him......

As a result of having been an exemplary prisoner (ironically, law enforcement officials have always liked O.J.), he will be eligible for parole in 2017. According to rumor (Toobin himself hasn't weighed in on it, but we'd love to know what he thinks), because Simpson will be 70 years old, they say he has a good chance of getting it.
