So, how was dinner?

It's a lot funnier though.

:D

I spoke to her in-laws.

They still think of her as a child.

But other than that...

So, how was dinner?

I was hoping no one would ask :(

Well I went and picked up everything I needed and came home and started cooking. The roast I found out (not until later) was too big for the crock pot.

About 2 hours before dinner, after 4 hours on high, I checked everything and the veggies in with the roast were not cooking so I checked the roast it was still pretty red too. There was too much in the pot it couldn't handle it.

I dumped everything into a big pan and put it in the oven and cooked it. The roast turned out dry and chewy.

I forgot to make jello for the kids before I left this morning and it was too late when I remember it.

I made zucchini bread which ended up not sweet enough and my sour dough bread did not rise enough. Bad day to make bread.

I also forgot to slice the cucumbers and tomatoes but the corn(the veggie I do not eat) turned out fine.

They got here at 4:00 and stayed until just after 8:00 and i am sure they stopped to get something to eat on the way home. I cannot explain why I feel so intimidated when they come to my house, I am fine with them any other time.

On top of all that when my mother inlaw said the house looks great my eight year old blurts out "That's because she shoved all the boxes for the Christmas junk in my room so you wouldn't see them" So days I want to kill him.

:(After all that I come here to see Ambrousios wanted to start rumors about me ;)

I am starved because dinner sucked but we have a friend that is bringing my by some babyback ribs tonight when he gets off work so I will have something to eat.

I have never blown a dinner like I did today :( and of course it had to be one for my inlaws.

Let me tell you about the time I made shrimp scampi in the microwave and it took forever to get done in a quantity large enough for my visiting family. They'd eaten all the side dishes and were STILL waiting for the shrimp! Still my worst disaster ever in cooking.

I'm glad everything turned out well.

LOL the only good things about tonight is that ER is new and I am getting babyback ribs.

Yeah, friends. Well, most of us, any way. :D

Gee that is the same thing I thought after reading through some of the other threads.

Nitelight *MUAH* I feel better now thanks :)

You ever get the feeling...

That some of these people flunked "sharing" in kindergarten??

Could be, I mean I thought everyone including Laurel had established that there was room for all of us on the board but I posted a thread at 9:00 this morning and 11 hours later I get an eye roll about it. Who knows???

Yeah, I don't think I need to be reading about people's eyes rolling, this is serious stuff here.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Oh, hell. This cracks me up.

Boy, I get sick and stay away one day and barely recognize a name on the board...what happened here today..what did I miss?

Posted here, just to tell Julia, thanks for the nice thread wayyyyy back there. I just saw it, and didn't want to bring it up front.

Sorry you were sick, hope you feel better now and you're welcome for the thread :)

Am sorry to hear your dinner wasn't what you planned...I know how tough it is to please in-laws...next time, fix what you and your family likes..not to impress the in-laws who seem like unimpressable (sp) people anyways..You gave it your best...cooking disasters do happen and I am sure your mother-in-law made some with her in-laws too...((((juliangel)))...giving you a big hug for your efforts hon.

Ksss the depressing part of it is, that it is a meal I cook at least once a week for my family. Thanks for the hug.
