That sucks. A true gentleman willing to share his knowledge with anyone. And someone that could read mirage like no one I've ever met.

At every match we ever participated in Lones would put on a mini-seminar. Either Gary (Anderson), Karen (Monez), or myself would be the 'models' for whatever point Lones was trying to make. It was funny in that invariably each of us would require some correction even though we were trying to do it right the first time even if it was just moving the foot so, or tucking the arm thusly. One of the reasons he had all those Olympic gold medals.

I was shooting position next to him at Perry one year a long time ago. Little Deena asked her dad why she couldn't shoot in the position match. He replied, "Because you're not good enough." He could be a bit blunt. But overall, a great guy.

Deena was just a gleam in Lones's eye when we were shooting together. You might transpose bluntness with honesty. You could make the argument that that simple truism on his part incentivized her to become the champion she was in her own right.

Being a gentleman doesn't mean that one has to brook non-sense on the part of others. Or sugar coat the truth. Lones could have softened the blow by adding "yet' to his statement, but that would have been out of character for him at a match. I'm sure you noticed that when it was 'game time' he became a singularly focused man. Even Deena wouldn't distract him from the task at hand.

OK, I'll try this. Been a long time.

200 yds. 5 rds. 300 WM. 208gr Hornady ELD-M 47.5 gr. RL-26. Mean MV 2975 fps with no signs of over pressure.

The low center was a scope adjustment. 1/2 MOA down, 1/4 MOA left. No follow up because it landed essentially where I expected it to.

This was for a 300 yd. sight in. The sight adjustment put me 2" high at 200 and smack on at 300.
