Hey, hey, good lookin',
Whatcha got cookin'?
How's about cookin' somethin' up with me?
Hey, sweet baby,
Don't you think maybe
We could find us a brand new recipe?
- Hank Williams

This is my very first thread at Literotica, so please bear with me. I do hope that no one minds if it is not about sex! :)

My hopes are to have everyone contribute their favorite recipes here, sort of like a giant cookbook that we may all share. Everything from your own creations to your Grandmother's classics. From your favorite munchie foods to new twists on old standards, everything or anything you desire to post. So, pull out your tattered cookbooks and let's have some fun swapping recipes! :)

Hi Emme, its fine that this thread isn't about sex, actually I think alot of the threads aren't about sex.

I will be back with some recipes for you.

Huggggggggs.

Mediterranean Shrimp with Angel Hair Pasta

This dish consists of sauteed shrimp in olive oil, tossed with fresh tomatoes, feta cheese, yellow squash and sliced black olives.

Serves about 4 people

1 lb. peeled and deveined shrimp
1 Tbsp. chopped or crushed garlic
2 Tbsp. olive oil
1/4 cup chopped fresh tomatoes
1 or 2 yellow squash, sliced into rounds
1 Tbsp. chopped fresh parsley
1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
1/4 cup sliced black olives or sliced pitted greek olives
1/2 lb. cooked Angel Hair pasta
Fresh lemon
Oregano - chopped fresh or dried leaves

Heat olive oil, add garlic, then shrimp. Cook quickly. Add tomatoes, squash, parsley and feta, reducing the heat to medium. Squeeze lemon over the mixture. Divide the cooked pasta onto warm plates, and spoon the shrimp mixture over the pasta. Sprinkle each with a very small amount of oregano flakes (or chopped oregano leaves), and serve with lemon slices as a garnish. It's especially good when topped with freshly ground black pepper.

If you don't like squash, try substituting artichoke hearts :)

Thank you for posting, Rosy! :rose:

I look forward to seeing what you may contribute. I love to cook, but I don't cook fancy things very often because my children don't appreciate it. So, I live for the day when I have family or friends in town and I can get creative in the kitchen. :)

I love this idea for a thread...I could not cook my way out of a paper bag....However, I look forward to seeing some yummy recipes. Good Luck!

Those sound wonderful, tryingsumtinnew :)

Once, at a restaurant, I had the most delicious fresh rainbow trout with an orange butter glaze, sprinkled with chopped fresh pecans. Oh, how I wish I had the recipe for that one!

I love to cook but unfortunately I don't have a lot of recipes. Most of the time I just get in the kitchen and add a little of this and a little of that till it suits my tastes.

:D

Hello baby blue :rose:

Maybe some of the recipes here might give you the inspiration to try cooking something different. As a teenager, I watched my Mother cook all of the time, I suppose I was fascinated by it. She was by no means a gourmet chef, more the 1950s - 60s Mom that cooked all of her homestyle foods with pride.

Today, when my pre-teen daughter wants to watch or help, I always encourage her. Some things don't come out quite right when she and her friends cook or bake on their own here, but they are trying and learning along the way. Let's see, the last oops was brownies baked in a deep, ungreased pan. They were hard as a rock! ;)

Here is a dessert that is always a crowd pleaser and easy to make.

Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie
Kentucky bourbon gives a kick to this southern classic.
Prep Time: approx. 30 Minutes. Cook Time: approx. 1 Hour .
Ready in: approx. 1 Hour 30 Minutes. Makes 1 pie (8
servings).

1 (9 inch) pie shell
1 cup white sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup butter
4 eggs, beaten 1/4 cup bourbon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
6 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans

Directions
1 Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees F).
2 In a small saucepan combine sugar, corn syrup, and
butter or margarine. Cook over medium heat, stirring
constantly, until butter or margarine melts and sugar dissolves.
Cool slightly.
3 In a large bowl combine eggs, bourbon, vanilla, and
salt. Mix well. Slowly pour sugar mixture into egg mixture,
whisking constantly. Stir in chocolate chips and pecans. Pour
mixture into pie shell.
4 Bake in preheated oven for 50 to 55 minutes, or until
set and golden. May be served warm or chilled.

No time like the present to learn. I didn't really learn how to cook until after my divorce. A man can only eat so many Hungry Man TV dinners. So I got my ass in the kitchen and experimented (it's good if you have drunk friends as lab rats), and before I knew it people were complimenting me on my cooking. Just have to make it fun, not like work. Good luck!

Hopefully, you will be able to add many new recipes to your collection from this thread. I love finding new recipes as much as I love to share the ones that I have at home.

I think it's great that you like to cook... there's something very special about men that like to cook. My ex never cooked a thing that wasn't burned beyond recognition, even toast. ;)

Thank you, I love to cook. To be honest though most of the women I have met don't know how to unless you consider cooking making some mac & cheese and nuking a couple of dogs.

I'm beginning to think we are the only two cooks here as well.

That's odd, there are 158,500 people registered here! I suppose they're all too busy having sex to be able to cook. I sure wish that was my problem! ;)

Guess I need to come up with some recipes for great sex! :D

Yeah wish I had that problem too.

Mom's Meatloaf

This meatloaf is made without bell peppers, and the sauce leans more toward being a barbecue sauce than a plain tomato sauce. It's good. :D

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Total baking time: 1 hour

1 1/2 lbs. lean ground beef or ground chuck
2/3 cup dry bread crumbs
1 cup milk
2 beaten eggs
1/2 cup chopped yellow onion
1 Tbsp. salt
1/4 Tsp. pepper

1 bottle barbecue sauce, such as Kraft (plain or onion flavor)
1/3 cup brown sugar

Soak bread crumbs in milk in a BIG mixing bowl, add eggs, meat, onion and seasonings and mix well. Form into a loaf in a metal or glass meatloaf pan, or center the loaf if you only have a larger pan available.

Set your timer for 30 minutes and bake. While it's baking, make the sauce:

In a bowl large enough to hole the entire bottle of BBQ sauce, empty the bottle and add the brown sugar. Stir until the sugar lumps have almost all disappeared, you may have to stir it several different times.

When the timer sounds, take the meatloaf out and drain the grease into a container that you can toss out. (Old jars are great, or coffee cans) Pour the BBQ sauce over the meatloaf, and return it to the oven for another 30 minutes.

Great with mashed potatoes and green beans ;)

Well, I did say you can put any kind of recipe here!

My gentleman friend lives halfway across the country, so all I can do is dream about sex most of the time. :(

Ah, but I bet they are wonderful dreams. :)

Hi guys... now wait just a cotton picking minute there....
I just found this thread, and I think I can make a mean bag of popcorn!!!
Actually I'm with you TSN, (it is ok to abreviate your name isn't it?)
I love to cook, I just don't have anyone to cook for anymore. All the kids are grown and moved on.... and the wife moved out last year. Most recipes feed four... so I have lots of leftovers, or I have to cut it in half.... tough to do with a pie, cake, etc.
I will put up some of the things I like when I get a chance.
Your Alaskan Salmon sounds good.

Have a great day you two.

I'll be back!!!

Of course you can, everyone else does and they are not even Parrot Heads. :D

This recipe is similar to those Campbell's Supper Bakes but I have been making it a lot longer than Campbell's...LOL I had to make smaller portions like KW,since the kids have moved out and it's just hubby and I now.

1 cup rice
1cup water
4 boneless,skinless chicken breasts
1 can of Cheese soup
1 can of mushroom soup

Put rice and water in a baking dish, put chicken on top ,then pour both cans of soup on top of the chicken.Cover with foil and bake in a 375 degree oven for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake another 20 - 30 minutes until chicken juices run clear when stuck with a fork. Yummmmmy!!
