Hey Englanders, do You remember the HMS Hood?

On May 24th 1941 (75 years ago),1415 crew members out of 1418 went to their deaths in the battle of Denmark straights. At the time, HMS Hood was the pride of the Royal Navy (and England for that matter, no I'm not dissing the Spitfire), Hood along with the HMS Prince of Wales was sent to dispatch the evil German battleship Bismarck, pride of the German Navy.

We remember.

HMS Hood was the largest ship in the Royal Navy at the time. She had been built as the last British battlecruiser despite the battlecruiser concept being known to be obsolete if not pointless.

She was also fatally flawed in that she was built with insufficient armour in the wrong places, and the flash protection between the gun turrets and ammunition stores was known to be inadequate.

The flaws were known from the 1916 Battle of Jutland when Royal Navy battlecruisers were sunk because of those design and construction mistakes. The Admiralty and the politicians knew that HMS Hood was vulnerable yet sent her and the very new and untried HMS Prince of Wales to face the Bismarck.

I knew or I should say I had a hunch you would remember Ogg. I don't know about Butters, Dolf or Des. Since the Hood wasn't made from cheese I figured no way Fata would.
