I'd reply to you in the other thread but you'd take offense. A thread is like a living being, it doesn't do what you 'want' it to. If people stop being interested in the subject or the response of others then it die.
I think you're taking this somewhat personally. It's not up to you to tell a thread to end or not, and it's not completely rational to become angry at someone for posting to it. In your mind the thread has become 'bad' and by posting to it I'm just digging up things that should be buried already, right?
In my mind I'm just replying to what is being said now, I could care less about what was said on it - nor do you see me tossing out insults or recriminations yet you feel the need to tell me to stop.
In many ways Laurel's thread on negative posting is an add on to the Penthouse thread but I see no one angry about her bringing it up.

Just live and let live. You don't like that thread? Then skip it. There are several I skip on a daily basis, I don't read them so they don't bother me.
