Could it be that you think the needs of others are more important that your needs?

I've been there, too. I have always put other people (and other people's needs) before me (my own). Why? I don't know really, but I have. I seem to have this strong nurturing nature. I hate to see anyone (close to me or not) hurting. I try to take their pain onto me, or do anything else in my "power" to ease their pain.
