Here are some photos from some satellites for ya'll. Hopefully this storm winds down before it hits land in Texas.

Infrared shot........this storm has maximum sustained winds of 165 Mph....meaning the gusts can go 30mph higher or plus That is winds of close to 200 mph. This storm is some distance away from where I live and yet still we have had rains from the feeder bands.... 3.78 inches in Melbourne, FLA so far today.

Oh wow, I hope you guys manage to batten down the hatches and stay safe, that looks horrific !

Thanks WantonWitch, we are safe here for this one.
So far we have been lucky in this part of Florida, last year we took a beating. However the season is supposed to remain active into October this year which is usually slow Hurricane wise.
The scientists are predicting decades of activity like we have been experiencing this past two years.....Might be time to move inland to the heartland and deal with Tornadoes instead.

This thing is a monster of a storm. As of now it is the 3rd most powerful hurricane since records have been kept.

To all those in the path... PLEASE be safe, please! :rose:

Whew! Could have been much worse but we will see lets hope the front will pick it up and move that baby out of there! If it stays there will be terrible flooding.

In the mean time there is something stirring in the Cape Verde Islands....it will be a couple of days before any actual organization can take place. Hope fully it will follow suit(like Phillipe) and head out into the open Atlantic.
