I keep a couple of PCs on XP for gaming and some of my work software that needs it. Everything else is Linux. It works well now and is easy, also OpenOffice is good these days (for windows as well) free, MSOffice compatible too.

It all networks easily, I can do all sorts of weird stuff like watch tv on a windows machine using the tv tuner in a linux machine at the other end of the house.

I get a bit misty-eyed when I think about windows 95.

I've not used Vista, but I've heard nothing but horror stories.

The only thing that's received universal praise is DirectX10, for games.

As if I care.
