Since taking on part time work in a hardware store, I have been watching-waiting-wondering about the zipties, tape, rope, chain etc... that people purchase.

In the past, I have made similar selections for "alternative" use.

In a few weeks, perhaps there will be an upswing in sales.

Yes, I have subscribed to chain trick thread some time ago. You might even see a post of mine there. (pre hardware store employment).
Unfortunately, there is also a name that elicits a "pang"...

waaaaaay back I made my own broad velcro cuffs with carabiners and nylon rope.

Luckily, I did get to use them a couple times.
