having problems--

how exactly do I edit a poem? When I did it according to the instructions, it shows that it's posted twice now.

also, is there any way to just delete a poem I've submitted??

the FAQ doesn't help, and no one ever contacts me back.

When you edit the poem, first, you will take your corrected poem and paste it into the box, just like you did on your initial post. In the title block, you need to put EDIT: Poem Title. By doing that, the program will recognize it as a new poem and it will let you post.

Be sure to write a note in the comments box indicating that you are editing the poem or story.

To delete a poem, you should either PM or Email Laurel or Manu and ask either to remove the poem.


Now if your post is still pending, you can click on the pending link and access the post to either edit or delete it.


It will take a day or so for your edited poem to be corrected, it will take up to a week or so for a story.

So what happens to the feedback, etc when you edit-- does it come out as a new poem again? Does it keep its votes? Just curious as I have never actually tried it (although I have edited many of them)

The feedback and votes will remain. Just make sure you signify in the title that it is an edit and tell them what you are doing in the comments box.

PS: I can't claim any merit badges, I am stumbling around here myself... Rybka showed me a lot of the ropes and then I just picked up a few hints here and there in the forums.
