I have been trying to submit a story since Aug 17 2015. I have submitted under the. Txt format and the. Docx format. I never heard back from my editor so I decided to publish without one. My profile page says I never submitted anything . I used the upload button then the submitted link after I filled in the title, discription, key word etc.
Since I filled out the entire form I am not sure why it is not being submitted. I can not even get an email when I try to contact Liturgical just as they said to do if I am having problems

Hmm. On the page where you upload your story and type a title and all that, did you hit the "Preview" button at the bottom of that page? That should take you to a page by page preview of the story. To make any changes you would click a "make changes" button (instead of back clicking), and I think on the final page there's actually a "Submit" button to click. This was the only bit I didn't see in your OP.

Also, note that if you're having any trouble at all with uploading Doc files, that you can copy/paste the text right from your own program to the text box instead. I think you've said you tried that but I wanted to make sure.

For whatever reason, site admin (and the one submissions screener/editor) can only be reached by Private Message. Her username is Laurel. You could try shooting her a PM, or if you'd prefer, there's plenty of writers here that submit on a regular basis that can help step by step to see if it's just a simpler issue.

Having never submitted a story using the upload feature, I don't know if it switches the button to submit or leaves it as preview.

You said you submitted a txt file, why didn't you just copy and paste into the submission box provided? That is the easiest and quickest way to submit a story.

I agree that copy and pasting into the box is the easiest way to submit. You must also click on the box that agrees to the terms of the site.

First off, .docx doesn't work so good and sometimes not at all.

Convert the .docx to standard .doc. Go to submit story .Use browse in the middle of the page to upload it. make sure and fill in the title, tag line, and part of the tags list. Make sure and check the little box at the top. Hit preview and then hit submit since there is nothing but what you put in the boxs to edit.

welcome to the board!


First off, since it's been so long, you could think about going to the Editors' Forum and post a thread outlining your story and asking for some editorial help. Ask for someone who will help you upload your story too.

Copying and pasting in the box is the easiest way - although you have to put your own HTML tags in etc.

I have uploaded Word documents and not had problems, although this does take longer than the copy and paste in the box method.

Finally, if you have got problems you should PM Laurel, not email Literotica. They never answer emails but are usually very prompt and courteous about getting back to Private Messages.
