We love strap on fucking. You are right be careful not to get a dildo that is too large. The maximum diameter that is comfortable for me is 1 5/16, but 7 inches long is fine. We find that lubed silicone dildos are most easy to insert. Always use lots of lube. You can't use silicone lube with silicone toys. We use Wet Original.

My wife and I was in your position a month ago. We researched the message boards, the different toy store pages, and even youtube! It took us about a month to make a truly educated decision. Our harness is leather, has a couple of straps and buckles, only takes a minute to put on once it's sized properly, and looks NOTHING like a utility belt. It does look and feel incredibly sexy. I don't think the same is true for the harnesses made of webbing/nylon/synthetics or those that are cheaply made, but a good leather harness looks great and fits just right.
