Help! Wearing capri pants

My wife is taking me out tonight for my birthday and she wants to wear capri pants. Ladies (or men if you happen to know), can you tell me what you're supposed to do for footwear with those short capri's? My wife has low biker boots, which with capri pants will leave her exposed from the top of the ankle up to the mid-calf. Is it fashionable to leave such an area visible when wearing capri pants? Are you supposed to wear socks or nylons with capris to cover the area below where the pants stop?

Please answer as quickly as you can because tonight is our big night.

It depends on the situation. I'm not so sure about the biker boots, but capris can certainly be dressy/sexy when paired with a nice heeled sandal (do a google images search for "heeled sandal" if you're not sure of what I mean) sort of shoe. Generally socks or nylons are not worn with capris (though sneakers with ankle socks can be cute for a daytime type of look). The biker boots may be okay, I've just never seen the style so I'm having a hard time picturing it. Basically if your wife feels sexy, she's going to look good regardless of what's on her feet. A high heel mule is a sure way to go I think.

A ballet flat could also look good, if she has a slim figure (wil give her a 50's look).

You're not supposed to wear nylons or socks with capris; the skin has to be bare.

capri pants are evil, they are peggy bundy pants! But no to the biker shooes, go for mules, sandals or ballet flats, the point of the capri pants is to show off your calf...and please no socks or pantyhose that just looks so wrong...

No, they are Laura Petri pants, so lay the blame at the feet of Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore. I agree with the "point" of the capri pants is to show off your calf...so no socks or (perish the idea) pantyhose. It's SUMMER.

Capris are an unnecessary mutation.
For cryin out loud don't they have enough choices.
Wear shorts or pants make up your minds,( I'm talkin bout women in general here no one in particluar)
Or a nice dress.

mules, slides, ballet flats, anything simple and cute and no socks or nylons it don't show enough skin to worry about a tan.
