I'm after an article in Mental Retardation and my uni isn't subscribed to it.

did several variations because I didn't find it on what you posted...Found something under American Journal on Intellectual Developmental Disabilities and came up with an old name of American Journal on Mental Retardation. Unfortunately, the library has only a paper copy (no online subscription) and I am over 100 miles from main campus. So for others, they can try either AJMR or AJIDD not the journal that the link provided

allen press is notorious for forcing you to pay for everything. That's why our library is cutting them out of their holdings.

yeah... but academic institutions often subscribe to these journals. it was the off chance that someone on here was in a uni that did subscribe to it.

may have to go via the british library.

It's available but I would have to send for it and have a copy delivered. The only way you will get it on line is if you are a member of the AAIDD

Coastal boy... seems mad really, by restricting access so much it makes it a really unattractive journal to submit to. I know a lot of UK academics refused to submit papers just because of the old title.

I was a member for a while and wasn't impressed. The APA is somewhat better.
