help wanted

i am typing a long story but i am running inot program problems. i have window xp home edtion and i have word perfect 2000. i need word 2002. i am have saving issues and more so my story gets save and when opened again i get symbols instead of letters. help!! does anyone have any ideas or know where i can get a copy of word 2002?? i cannot find it here, wal mart is about the biggest store we have here and they haven't had it for awhile. any help??? please??

I have had multiple problems with word and long documents. Can you split it up into chapters (or some such), so it is not so long? My observation is that when a word doc apporaches 100 pages, it starts to get flacky.

You can get Word in just about any computer store, or you can buy it online from Microsoft.

I mostly see MS Office rather than just MS Word or MS Excel on shelves.

Rnegade, is there a particular reason you need Word 2002? An earlier version of Word (Word 97 or Word 2000) should work fine on a Win XP system. There is very little difference between Word 97 and Word 2000 -- I'd presume that there is a similar lack of difference between 2000 and 2002 (other than the cost, that is.)

i was told to get word 2002 for window xp. it is the best and works great. so i was told to get it. i have seen it and i want that version. i looked on microsfts webpage and i cannot find it. and i am still looking for it. but thanks you one and all for your help.

Was there an Office 2002 at microsoft's site? You may need to get MS Office to get the version you want.
