I read a story a long time ago (a couple of years at least) that I forgot to favourite or mark and have had a yearning to re-read it but of course I can't find it or remember who wrote it, so I thought I would post here to see if anyone could point me to the story. I know there are hundreds of thousands of stories here but I thought I would take a shot in the dark. It's also possible the story was removed, but hey, it never hurts to ask.
Here's what I remember
- Man moves across country after a difficult divorce
- Woman with her own problems moves in across the street
- She looks a lot like his ex-wife so he initially avoids her
- He reminds her of the type of man she left (abusive professional athlete)
- She leaves to run an errand and internet company comes by to set her up but is unable to
- Comes back, angry, needs access
- Guy feels bad offers to allow her to use his and work from his home until she can get the company to come back
- Slow romantic relationship develops
- There's a nosey neighbour
- The woman's ex show up and there is a fight
Maybe I've forgotten more of the story than I thought
