Strangest thing. Using Safari on my Mac I can access every other part of Lit. But not the Bulletin Board. When I try to get onto this board, I get instead this:

If you can see this, it means that the installation of the Apache web server software on this system was successful. You may now add content to this directory and replace this page.

Seeing this instead of the website you expected?

This page is here because the site administrator has changed the configuration of this web server. Please contact the person responsible for maintaining this server with questions. The Apache Software Foundation, which wrote the web server software this site administrator is using, has nothing to do with maintaining this site and cannot help resolve configuration issues.

You are free to use the image below on an Apache-powered web server. Thanks for using Apache!

No problems when I use Firefox. Any thoughts on what I should do?

Stick with firefox!:D

Seriously though, I cannot replicate your error on my safari browser. Which is as it should be, because the browser-- safari, firefox-- has nothing to do with the server, which is where you are getting that message from.

How are you getting to the forums? Is there any difference in the URLS that you used on the two different browsers?

I'm always on Safari. The only problem I have is sometimes it takes forever to load a thread, or the second page of a thread, or a post to a thread. It's very random. I think I'll try Firefox.

That's lit's overloaded servers, not your browser! happens to us all, this site is too popular for its own good....

Yup, that's happened to a couple of the other sites I have frequented. The owners finally had to bite the bullet and buy into a more powerful server. Y'hear that, Manu?

Hmmm...I was about to raise hell with my ISP 'cause the pages were loading so slow...let's pass the hat and buy Manu a new server. :D

Maybe a bake sale?

Well, that's the thing. I've always used Safari as well and it's never, ever done anything like this before. This is the first time. But it's really persistent. Now that it's started doing it, it won't stop.

I'm gonna try a few things, and see what happens, starting with the address. Wish me luck!

Ha-HA! I copied the addy from Firefox, pasted it in, and here I am. You know, it seemed to happen only when I went to the main page and picked "Bulletin Board" so that must be where the flaw is.

On the main page the URL is forum.literotica.com/. Usually the server know to search for index.html and index.php. Strangely enough he doesn't do that for you ??? The message you have is when somebody just install a server and didn't have a index page on yet.... very strange indeed.

I guess I'm special. :D What can I say? First time this problem has ever happened with that main page there, and *only* for the bulletin board. Anything else I click on takes me to the right page.

Still happening, too. When I go to this page, and click on Bulletin Board I get this page which, to me at least, is that darn test page for Apache. Your results may differ--though I'd be interested (and relieved) to know they didn't. That'd mean we need to alert Manu. But if it's just me... :(

We all knew you were special. :D

When I click on your first link and then click on Bulletin Board, I get the Forums. When I click on your second link, I get the Forums. Maybe you need to clear your cache?

I'm using Safari and the Bulletin Boards link works fine for me.

How do you rate? :( ;)

Nothing to do with your browsers people.

´twas a temporary glitch on the server side. Manu tripped over the power cord or sumpfing.

Sorry you are special :D Doesn't happen with me but I'm with Firefox/Win.
As I said, it doesn't seem to redirect you to the index.php page.
I wouldn't worry about it. You can always mention the incident to Manu but I don't think it's a breach in security (but I'm no server administrator).

When you click on this link Bulletin Board and you arrive on the apache page just add index.php at the end of your URL which should therefore be like this
Code:
http://forum.literotica.com/index.php
and reload.

If it works put that URL in your favorite and that's it. You can also go straight to the AH and bookmark that one, because, after all, it's the best of the best, and who need the others :)

There's a little $4 shareware utility for Mac that does maintenance for you while you're sleeping, or whenever you tell it to.

Contrary to popular opinion, Macs do need a little TLC every now and then, but nothing like what PC users have to go through to keep themselves out of the shit pile Bill Gates built into his lovely platform.

It's actually pretty cozy once you're numb to the smell.

I did a little Mac clean up and no go. I'm still having the same problem when I try to access the bulletin board via that main page. It just seems to forget to include "index.php" in the address. Why this is so I'm not sure. And why I'm the only one having this problem with only this part of this website is, um, well a mystery. Maybe I should attribute it to the supernatural?

So far I haven't been able to fix it.

As for the PC users and their platform, I hear tell that Windows 7 is on its way to save the day, and make all the bad experiences with Visa vanish! But I think I'll stick with my Mac and Safari all the same, even if I am having this odd little problem.
