And the highlighted section indicates to me that you know nothing about ancient Rome - any of her eras. Or about domination for that matter, but that's something else entirely.

To the OP. If you haven't already, head on over to the BDSM Forums (here and here) and browse around. The library is chock-full of good information and good advice from both submissives and dominants.

I'd suggest that you sit your wife down and have a frank and open discussion with her. Establish a safe word (something not associated with play, such as 'red' or 'helicopter') that she can call out when she needs all play to stop. This will also allow you to enjoy without fearing that you will harm her.

Also, establish a list of acceptable play, soft limits and hard limits for you both. Dom/mes are allowed to have hard limits too (my all has several, for example).
