What lame and strange music can you listen to over and over again?

Forever in blue jeans...

Welcome

and my name is Jennifer NOT Caroline..

Why aren't you on AOL?

My second grade teacher used to play Neil Diamond to us before recess. She'd play "Song Sung Blue", and point to a kid in the class whose name was Sung every time Neil sang the word. I'm sure Sung's traumatized to this day. I know I am.

Foxinsox is right!

ABBA rocks! In a lame, disco-inspired way.

Dancing Queen, young and sweet, only 17...

Marxist, we have to organize an intervention. You need help badly.

Just yesterday, a radio personality here played the Neil Diamond song, "Suleiman" as an ironic commentary on a news story about John Walker, the "American Taliban."

All I could think of afterward was how big a hambone Neil Diamond is and what kind of people must like him.

We're here for you, man. Be strong...

What in the hell is Marxist's av all about? It scares me!
Someone please explain.

Marxie

I have this image in my head of you sitting at your monitor belting out these songs, occasionally getting up to do a whole lounge act "pose & point". heh

Just don't start dressing like him, ok?

I met him in a swamp down in Dagoba
Where it bubbles all the time like a giant carbonated soda
S-O-D-A, soda
I saw the little runt sitting there on a log
I asked him his name, and in a raspy voice he said, "Yoda"
Y-O-D-A, Yoda
Yo Yo Yo Yo Yoda

Well, I've been around, but I ain't never seen
A guy who looks like a muppet, but he's wrinkled and green
Oh, my Yoda
Yo Yo Yo Yo Yoda

Well, I'm not dumb, but I can't understand
How he can lift me in the air just by raising his hand
Oh, my Yoda
Yo Yo Yo Yo Yoda
Yo Yo Yo Yo Yoda

Well, I left home just a week before
And I've never ever been a Jedi before
But Obi Wan, he set me straight, of course
He said, "Go to Yoda and he'll show you the Force!"

Well I'm not the kind that would argue with Ben
So it looks like I'm gonna start all over again
With my Yoda
Yo Yo Yo Yo Yoda
Yo Yo Yo Yo Yoda
Yoda
Yo Yo Yo Yo Yoda
Yo Yo Yo Yo Yoda

So I used the Force
I picked up a box
I lifted some rocks
While I stood on my head
Well, I won't forget what Yoda said

He said, "Luke, stay away from the darker side,
And if you start to go astray, let the Force be your guide."
Oh, my Yoda
Yo Yo Yo Yo Yoda
"I know Darth Vader's really got you annoyed,
But remember if you kill him then you'll be unemployed."
Oh, my Yoda
Yo Yo Yo Yo Yoda

Well, I heard my friends really got in a mess
So I'm gonna have to leave Yoda, I guess
But I know that I'll be coming back some day
I'll be playing this part till I'm old and gray
The long-term contract that I had to sign
Says I'll be making these movies till the end of time
With my Yoda
Yo Yo Yo Yo Yoda
Yo Yo Yo Yo Yoda

Yoda
Yo Yo Yo Yo Yoda
Yo Yo Yo Yo Yoda
Yoda
Yo Yo Yo Yo Yoda
Yo Yo Yo Yo Yoda

Yoda
Yo Yo Yo Yo Yoda
Yo Yo Yo Yo Yoda
Yoda
Yo Yo Yo Yo Yoda
Yo Yo Yo Yo Yoda

I have it recorded on a cd 12 times in a row. :)

MORNINGSIDE

Morningside
The old man died
And no one cried
They simply turned away
And when he died
He left a table made of nails and pride
And with his hands, he carved these words inside
'For my childen'
Morning light
Morning bright
I spent the night
With dreams that make you weep
Morning time
Wash away the sadness from these eyes of mine
For I recall the words an old man signed
'For my children'

And the legs were shaped with his hands
And the top made of oaken wood
And the children that sat around his table
Touched it with their laughter
Ah, and that was good

Morningside
An old man died
And no one cried
He surely died alone
And truth is sad
For not a child would claim
the gift he had
The words he carved
became his epitaph
'For my children'

Ack, Neil Diamond is horrid. ;) I have always thought that his voice sounds like he is singing into a toilet. :D

Another school story:
My high school spanish teacher adored Senior Diamond. Yes, she called him Senior Diamond. She also wore gold tennis shoes and had hair that looks like Peg Bundy's on Married With Children. I remember hiding the AV equipment from her many times to avoid being forced to listen to his songs.

Lets work this out over some manicotti.
The Cabana.
Tonight, 10 pm.
Come around the back.
Alone.
