Help...I think Weird Harold might be my man!?!?

From what I've been reading Weird Harold is the guru of all things computer related, hence the reason I named him in the thread. But I need help from anyone who can help me...I posted to Lil Brandi's "something new and different" in the General Board and it seems it will go on forever..."GO BRANDI!"

But being fairly new to the site, I neglected to uncheck the box about sending me email notification. I've gone and posted to the thread again and unchecked that box, but I still keep getting email notification. While I think the thread is fun and wish Brandi the best, the emails are clogging up my email. How can I stop them? Otherwise pretty soon I'll be CRAZY MYA!!!

And I also tried to locate my posts in that thread to see if I could edit them and uncheck the email notification box on the specific posts, but since it's like 800 pages long, I can't find my posts in there. Is this maybe what I have to do to solve the problem? And if so how can I find my specific posts in that thread??

Lastly, the email notifications all say "There may be other replies also, but you will not receive any more notifications until you visit the thread." as the last line. But it's not true either. I get notification after notification after notification, even if I don't visit the thread.

Help me, please....

If e-mail notification was your default...

Then you're screwed hon. Sawwy. You'll have to located each and every post you made in that thread to click the lil' button. It's not a fun task.

The only way to stop the e-mail notifications is to uncheck each post in the thread.

Since there are 800+ pages, a few tips on how to find them might be useful.

1: Start with the last page, not the first.

2: Once each page is open, press CTRL-F and enter your name as the text to "find on this webpage."

3: If your name isn't on that page, or as soon as you've taken care of the posts on that page, go to the next oldest page and repeat the process.

4: When you get tired, frustrated, bored, or dejected, finish the page you're on, note the next page you need to work on, and take a break.

When you do take a break, wait until you get another notificationbefore going back -- You may be done and not know it.

Last but not least, go to your BB profile NOW and make sure that "e-mail notification as default" is set to NO e-mail notification.

By the way, I am so sorry to hear about all that mail, I'm soooooooooo glad I never ask for email notification.

Ummmmmmmmmm...is there a way to jump to say page 750 without moving by the numbers at the top of the page which I see only move you 3 pages at a time????

1: Right click on any page link and click "copy shortcut"

2: Click on your address bar and paste with CTRL-V

You will get something similar to this link:

3: Using the mouse cursor or arrow keys change the number after pagenumber= to the desired page and click the Go button or hit enter.

4: Voila!

Thank you, thank you, thank you Weird Harold. That page trick will help me with the task immensely. I have checked 75 pages already, finding one of my postings which I altered. Being able to come back and start where I left off without jumping only 3 pages at a time is a huge time saving.

I'm just a very lazy man at heart, so I learn how to get the computer to do my searching and typing for me.

I'm also one of those strange people who actually read the instructions.
