If I have pictures on a cd with anywhere from 200kb to 350kb.
i tried to post on the boards, but it was returned as too large.
Can I reduce the size of these to submit?
Please tell me how to do it.

any help would be appreciated.

You can reduce them if you have some kind of photo editing program.

If you don't have a program to edit them, let us know...I'm sure I or someone else can help you out. :D

To reduce the size of images, you need to use an image editing program.

Once in there, you can either reduce the dimensions of the picture ( 640 wide x 480 tall is relatively large ) to drop the file size or you can reduce the image quality.

If you don't have an image editing program, well then. Get one! :D There are a ton of Shareware products out there you can try, like JASC's PaintShopPro.

I'd be more than happy to help as well ....... just takes a minute to fix.

If you have one of the newer versions of Windows, youshould have MS Photo Editor in your accessoeies folder -- it does an acceptable job of resizing most pictures.

If the pictures are on a CD-ROM then you need to copy them to your hard disk to resize them becuase you can't save the changes to the CD-ROM.

The limits for attaching a picture is 800x600 pixels and "102400 bytes" or 1Kb exactly.

If you don't have MS Photo Editor, then check out IrFanview (available from several download sites.) It's a freeware image management program that has a very good resize function.

If you have a scanner or digital camera, you probably have some photo editing software on the installation disk that came with it. Some printers come with image editing software also.

Thanks Harold! Do not see MS Editor, but spotted an icon named imaging that I might be able to use.

Unfortunately, Kodak Imaging doesn't have a resize function that you can save changes to the image. It's OK for formatting an image for printing, but doesn't have aany real editing capabilities.

I just discovered that. I chose best fit and thought if I saved it thats what the finished product would be. Wrong! still this huge 17" picture. I guess I will just have to breakdown and get this editing thing.
