I just upgraded from Windows ME to XP and I'm having incompatibility issues with my soundcard.

It's Soundblaster Live! Value and I'm getting pissed off. I can't find an XP upgrade for it. Does this mean I need to replace the sound card or will that even fix the problem? I have no sound with the exception of a soft pop when I change internet pages.

Have you gone to the Soundblaster site to see if they have an XP driver for that card?

Have you checked the Microsoft site for the same thing?

Just checking.

Yep... I can't find anything to fix it. Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough? Been dealing with this problem 4 hours this morning and 3 hours last night.

See my second post! :D

Did you look here for an updated driver? You will have to know which kind of soundcard you have, i.e. Live! 24-bit, Live! Gamer 5.1

Once you click in that information within the framed menus, you can choose XP as your operating system and download a driver.

Beat me to it. It should do the trick.

I downloaded those updates early this morning and went to the Microsoft sight as well... Nothing. Sigh. I don't know what the problem is at this point, but I'm hanging it up for now. I'll just be soundless for a little while.
Did you download the 1st one or the 2nd one?

This might be a stupid question but did you then install the drivers? There would have been an .exe file which would then copy the proper .dll files to the windows directory.
