I was considering posting this link as well, Earthmuffin, as there are several people in my life who are now dealing with the terrible realities of breast cancer.

However, I think that you needed to tell people to click on the little pink bow off to the left of the page. Each time they do that, Yahoo donates $1.00 to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Thanks for caring enough to post this, Earthmuffin. :)

:)

I went to the site and clicked the pink bow- they've already reached their maximum donation and doubled it to $10,000.

The site is still a good one though- lots of information on breast cancer awareness. Worth a bit of your time to check it out- men, too! You have wives and girlfriends- help them to watch for lumps. Of the women I know who have found lumps in their breasts, often it is their husband/boyfriend who actually noticed the problem first.

Its good to know that there are people out there that are sure to help others in need ...or in a diffcult time in there lives .....

Let the sun shine on you all:p

Thanks for showing me this, Earthmuffin. Breast cancer is the #1 cancer among women in incidence and #2 in mortality (lung is a bit more deadly), but still a huge medical problem.

But there's lots of promising research going on, and as much as we on the clinical side of medicine like to think we're making the difference in people's lives, none of it would be possible without tons of research. The unfortunate thing is that research is extremely expensive. So, it's great to see fundraising projects like this which make it easy to raise money to keep this vital research going.

Since I'm on the topic of breast health, I'll also mention that I'll be giving free breast exams here at home today for any concerned women. Just doing my part for women's health, ya know.

I promise to try not to enjoy it too much. ;)

Hi Oliver, you sexy doctor, you. If all doctors had your smooth bedside manner, lots more ladies would go to the doctor. Early detection is the key, my aunt & my boss are both alive today because their husbands discovered the lumps they had ignored. It is vital to check for lumps. I check every day in the shower, we have a history of several types of cancer in my family.

Breast Cancer...

Why is there so much Cancer in women's breasts? I watched a thing on 20/20 or something where people could get a real good computer look into their body to see if anything was wrong...of course the person at the Switchboard got out of the same Room behind protective Glass, and it only cost $700...Maybe we'll find out in the Long Run that TV is a Nuker
