I have a story that I wrote (1st one) that was denied by lit. I didn't get a good clarification as to why. I have read some awful stories and some fantastic ones and I know mine falls somewhere inbetween.

I was wondering how I can go about making my story better so it can be accepted. This is a gift for my wife and I want to surprise her with it.

Any help would be great thanks.

It said format. So I am unsure what they want. That is why I want to know. It is in paragraph form so I am unsure

No clue how many words. It is sorta long. As for the genre it is me and my wife so I would assume erotic couplings. A you can tell I am quite new to all of this.
