A nice man was good enough to tell me how to get here to where people who like to write are.

I don't think I am an erotic writer. Certainly not like my Husband was. I don't know anything about how to do that. I tried just a couple of times to do it and got some mean emails. Those hurt me. I am sorry, I have a problem with that.

So now all I will write is what happens. I am a Doctor. Please understand I have episodes to deal with.

I am manic/depressive, on medication, I am trying.

Writing is a kind of therapy, it helps.

So Bill, I think that was the name, if you read this, here I am. I bookmarked it so I can find my way back.

And I didn't say "suddenly" even one time in my next story. LoL.

Thank you.

Hey, everyone gets those. I'm an erotic writer (I like to think) and I get them all the time. I've been called everything from you bitch to you dirty Republican. I've been cussed out in three languages.

I don't know why people feel the need to send out their anonymous little nastygrams, but they do it whenever the spirit moves them.

Not that it helps any, but you're not alone.

Welcome to the Hangout.

:)

Welcome. If you suffer from depression you've come to the right place. Someone started a thread about that a few months ago and so many of us posted to it that it seems as if half the forum has been through something similar.

Congratulations on finding the courage to post a story or two.

I bumped the depression thread for you, just in case. No expertise here, other than personal experiences by a lot of us, but some people have said it helped them. I wish I had known other sufferers when I was diagnosed with depression. Maybe you'll find it helpful.

:) Sometimes I call myself an erotic writer but, if pressed to define what that is, I tell people I write dirty stories, or smut. There is a difference but I am not sure what it is, and I amsatisfied to write entertaining smut.:p

Welcome Magic. I am sorry for your loss, truly. I do not know you but I know loss.

Do hang around, there are many fine people here, and most with good will and humor.

regards, Perdita

Welcome to the club Doc. You're in good company here. Oh, and don't let my screen name throw ya, it came about from using the initials of my real name. I'm really only as bad as I want to be.

Welcome to Lit, Lee.
Don't let the stupid emails bother you, everyone gets them. It is particularly funny when someone who can't write a decent email tells you how to write a story.
I read your latest submission and thought it very good. Wish I had a Doctor like her. Well I do have one similar, but I don't think she finds me attractive enough to go on a date. :)

Lee,

Glad you muddled through my directions and found the Hangout. As for being a "nice" guy, well, remember what Lincoln said about fooling people.

I'm taking the liberty to post a link to one of Lee's stories. I was double-checking the non-erotic category prior to posting something in Og's thread "How to get on a Top List" when I came across this story. It had knocked my poor pitiful prose even further down on the list. When I started reading it, I knew why and never got back to Og's thread.

Ps. Off to read to too often maligned writings of our new visitor.....

Welcome to the Ah doc. Since you have already met Rumple you have met one of our finest, but he is hardly alone. By and large the people here are salt of the earth.

Don't let the mean feedbacks hurt, they are the products of small minds and mean spirits. All of us get them from time to time, with no respect to our various levels of ability. From the most polished to the beginner no one is safe from the trolls. Annonimity engengers courage in some of the worst kinds of people. It's no reflection on you or your work, more a reflection on them and their lack of couth.

Maybe you authors should discourage some of the pointless, anonymous nastiness by started a thread where you post their messages. If people realize that their own idiocy is going to be made public, they might decide not to give feedback that isn't meant to be constructive.

"The Pointlessly Cruel Feedback Thread."

Publish the unpublished. Show them how it feels to put something you've written out in front of the public.

I visit an extremely liberal site called idleworm all the time. The webmaster makes a point of displaying his hate mail and once posted it generally gets a retraction. He however posts the sender's addy. I am afraid if we started posting hate mail the trolls would try to out do themselves in nastiness just to see their words in lights.

I don't want to see anyone's hate or other stupid mail. I say just ignore them. I don't read the dopey threads where people post anonymous feedback.

The dumb or nasty ones tend to be anon. anyhow. All the pc are on display for anybody who wants to read them. Also, some people might send what they think is constructive criticism, and thew writer takes it personally. Like Colly sayhs, also, some people woulf get even nastier just to see themselves in public print.
