BlackShanglan said:One might guess that "Virginia" is her name rather than her location. I suspect that she's either English or an American who's paid some attention to English/American conventions; an American would be much less likely to call her position "lecturer" or to spell "love" as "lurrrv," and I have never heard an American use the phrase "gagging for it."
(By the way, how on earth is that meant to convey eagerness? It always sounds uncomfortable to me, and rather as if one was about to be sick.)

Golden Virginia is a trade name of a brand of cigarette rolling tobacco in the UK.
'Gagging for it' is an unfortunate UK colloquialism implying that the person would be sick (or would vomit) if the need were not to be supplied. It is usually applied by unprepossing males when referring to nubile females who are totally uninterested if not repelled by the males' drunken behaviour.
I would presume therefore that Golden Virginia is a UK resident and acquainted with some of the unfortunate aspects of the behaviour of students in tertiary educational establishments.
