Hello, I'm new

The AH is for followers and snow flakes , but 12 years ago it was a gladiator arena. Management and snow flakes prefer sedate. You wont learn much here, and boring is the usual fare. You've been warned.

Hey, good to see you pop up again. Don’t be a stranger :D

It was the image of Zeb as an honest to god lesbian. That had me laughing so hard..... forgive me my sense of humor, for it is awful...

Not really, I think you have a wonderful sense of humor. Glad I could bring laughter into your day.

And I am an honest to god lesbian.

Thank you all for such a wonderful welcome. For those of you who are interested, I have tentatively started a blog on Tumblr. It's new so is low on posts, but I will be updating it regularly with my love of vintage lesbian erotica and lesbian art, with my own added thoughts. The art and erotica is mostly tasteful but perhaps my words verge on the taboo. I hope to gain some regular visitors. Unfortunately Tumblr seems to suffer from the same problems I mentioned earlier about the modern, social media and dating led online world, in that it lacks the conversation led comment sections. It's all about likes and reposts which are not very satisfying for me. I'm hoping that in the absence of comments and conversation on my blog from other Tumblr users, I might build a following here and the conversations could be had in this good old fashioned forum. Anyway, please have a peek. Thank you once again for all of your warm welcomes.

I used to have a Tumblr. Most of the conversations consisted of dick pics.

Well that seems to be how the internet has shifted. There has always been frustrated men who have no decorum but old fashioned chat rooms and forums like this still facilitated verbal interaction so there was enough quality conversation to disregard the uncouth penis pictures.

Tumblr has a format which is very pleasing to the eye and it's very easy to use but for some reason, the brainboxes in Silicon Valley decided that Tumblr didn't require interactive comment threads. I think in the age of social media, (other than the vanilla and sex free Facebook), long form discussion threads have been discouraged or discontinued.

Tumblr seems to have been designed for the younger generation who seem more interested in Likes and reblogs than any conversation or intellectual stimulation. I think Tumblr is missing a trick but perhaps the eggheads who study these things and design platforms to increase screen time have realised that their platforms are more efficient at reeling people in based on pictures, gifs, shiny baubles and the youngsters desire for validation via likes and reblogs.

Perhaps the interactive conversation takes away from them maximising the addictiveness of their platform. Tumblr is aimed at younger people who're fishing for validation and instant gratification rather than middle aged women like me who want to have long, in depth conversations about vintage erotic art and share erotic stories.

Tumblr is on the Snapchat/Instagram continuum. Clueless young boys sending unsolicited penis shots and clued up young women with round bums becoming rich celebrities with twerking gifs to tantalise the clueless young boys. Such platforms tend to the lowest common denominator.

It's a shame because they dominate the market yet they have the potential to cater to the intelligent mature user as well as the fame chasing twerking girls and thirsty cock pic sending boys.

Silicon Valley just seems to have chosen the instant gratification crowd

Welcome Lucy ~ :rose: I hear and relate to your feelings. I have no doubt you will find enjoyment and a sense of fulfillment in both writing your fantasies into a story...and making friends who share your everyday interests, your sexuality and your kinks.

I too write primarily in the LGBTQ genre, and your interests and draw to submission and domination (D/s) are not at all unusual or unique. From the brief mention you made, it sounds less like actual BDSM in a physical sense, but more in the emotional sense. As has been said, the BDSM category may not offer quite the readership for such "soft bdsm" as the Lesbian category. That's just an opinion, so take it with a grain of salt. But, I have even posted a story in the Romance section about a 'mtf transgender lesbian relationship' with rewarding reviews. So don't get to feeling too constrained...just consider the readership who you want to see your story.

I have a tumblr account and will be sure to look you up and say hi ;)

PS: Don't be afraid to hang out in the BDSM/BDSM Cafe Forums...really nice people there. And of course, the LGBT Forum too !
