It doesn’t feel like it can be good business sense to restrict their market so much... I imagine they may be out of business sooner rather than later...

You’re too good for them anyway, x

An odd business - their twitter feed is full of people grumbling about the same. They go to a 14, you have to select all women, then filter by size and it will show what’s available. Still no good for me - I’d love to fit into a 14... but they also bizarrely claim that some styles suit a wider range of sizes, if you tell them which item you are interested in - they’ll let you know how it’ll fit more sizes... a odd and convoluted way to do business...

Ha ha. Thanks AP. It’s like trying to buy anything in a French boutique like Comptoir de Cottonaires. ( can’t be arsed to search the right spelling) they don’t display anything in an XL. They sell that size but they don’t have them out. You have to ask for them and a surly shop assistant will start rummaging around in plastic packets and produce your crumpled garment. It’s a punishment for having the temerity to waddle your fat English arse over their threshold. They did it in a maternity shop Serephine too..... I made them open all the packets for practically everything. Nothing says “chic” like fat shaming a fucking pregnant woman.

Thanks for looking AP.... I’m not doing that. They can fucking go whistle..... I’m a 16/18 as I endlessly tell men on here.

Oh good - you can do the tourist information for the whole of Scotland.... I’m fucked if I’m doing it

( although I don’t mind covering Balmoral and surrounding area) ;)

That is a lot of responsibility to take on but I will try my best. As long as it hits the Edinburgh - Glasgow - Aberdeen Triangle. Plus a couple of the islands, and oddly the Faroe Islands (that is a rough boat trip).

Balmoral is lovely though, looks so nice and a lovely place to live. I have a little jealousy in me right now :)

A young Matthew Kelly? You’ve already sold it to me - if you don’t follow my thread, I went to see a show that was part of the Camden Fridge Festival this week... featured a female cowboy hitler, a talking bunny rabbit and a prostitute named valentine...

I like my plays weird and wonderful - tell us about young Matthew Kelly...:cattail:

Do you have a picture thread? I feel that needs to be investigated with more haste than the internet can handle!

Well it was a comedy show, the last week has been tough on a personal level for a small variety of reasons and I needed something that was going to make me laugh. The group was called Sleeping Trees and was a sketch comedy show based on the 'silly funny boyz' holding a comeback show. It was a three piece where one looked, and sounded, like the man from You Bet. It was so weird I almost wanted to ask him if he was the bearded one incarnate. So they did a variety of sketches from pretend performing dogs, rap battles, improv plays and all sorts in between and it worked really well to be honest. It was exactly what was required.

It was also incredibly Edinburgh fringe, a lecture theatre converted to a stage with maybe around 50 people tops watching performers just do what they enjoy. I have no idea if they will make money from it, probably not, by they looked like they were having fun.

Also, you saw a what now with a which what and a who where? That requires many many more details...

incidentally I’m ok.... I buy my clothes from Cos and Arket who are as chic as you get and have no issue making clothes in my size.

What else can do get pissy about... I’m on a roll.

Apologies if this comes out wrong but I have honestly never understood why companies do not try and be more inclusive about who they sell to. Just make good clothes and understand everyone is different. Mainly do not make people feel crappy for daring to want to actually spend money with you, you just turn people away.

For what it is worth that company sucks, and can effectively bugger off.

I get annoyed about inconsistent sizes... except for when they are generously in my favour as Wallis and John Rocha at Debenhams are...

Also places that do my size but never have them out because I will not ask, if it’s not on the rack, I will never ask an assistant if they have a bigger size - I just take my monies elsewhere.

Quite loving TK-Max at the mo... am sure they never used to stock much in my size but the larger London stores have pleasantly surprised me of late. I bought this last week for the princely sum of £14.99 to some very complimentary comments from my thread visitors... £14.99... ridiculously cheap. The material feels lovely as well, it’s quite heavy but as a result it hangs quite well - plus today I’ve taken it out of the tumble and it’s practically creasefree. It may be about to become my new favourite dress... did I mention it’s £14.99? 😊

And in looking it up for you, I have now spotted they do it in other colours - I feel a set coming on... because you know... at £14.99 you can...;)

Sorry you’ve had a tough week, hope you are over the worst of it...

And performing dogs and rap battles sounds glorious... especially if the dogs did the battles... :cattail:

I do not know anything about female sizes. I mostly wear free brewery tshirts, Carhardt pants and flannel shirts. I will say I find it odd that store name is TK Max in UK but TJ Max in states. These are the things that trouble my mind.

I’m pretty amazed it goes in the tumble drier.... most of my clothes don’t. Reminds me of this dress although probably not so much cleavage

I bought that one in blue too... my husband got the hump with me when I wore it to a Christmas do.

It will get there, may take a little bit of time and i wont go into it too much as the board does not need that kind of outpouring on a Friday night :). But I do appreciate the warm thoughts, and I thank you for those.

Only rhe one dog unfortunately but by that point we had already gone into the realm of the strange. I think I may take another lookee tomorrow and maybe grab a show, possibly some theatre if I can find some good reviews.

I googled - it’s a subsidiary of TJ Maxx, the things so learn on lit... ;)

But yeah - not sure why the different store names...

Oh va va voom... yeah my cleavage was more restrained than that. Also most of the men here would not get the hump at you wearing that out,

Do! You can never see too many shows, xx

All I can say is I think your husband should have been proud at how good you look in that dress, if you do not mind me saying. It compliments you superbly.

Perhaps you’d care to go to the Cut & Paste collage exhibition at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern art and feed back? ;)

I do have a free morning tomorrow so that sounds like a lovely idea, hopefully I can take some snaps too. I do like a wander around a gallery.

Hey look at you. I dont mind laundry but I cant stand ironing. That being said I am down to one load a week. The beauties of being a dirtbag who only wears grey and black.

I can cover pretty much the same radius, so no one go anywhere else in Scotland and we're covered!

My understanding of the fringe is that everyone loves it, but the locals... It really takes over everything. I've been multiple times and even helped take a show there once too so can confirm that a lot (probably the majority) of theatre companies operate the fringe at loss, but the exposure and the thrill is too much to pass up.

I really should try and go again this year... Le sigh.

As for all you fashionable ladies, I love tkmaxx except I picked up 4 things in my size to try on last week and only one of them fit. Like not even just a little tight, like plain could not get into them. I'm not nearly cool enough for half the other places mentioned.

And wowsa. That dress SL. Hawt.

If you visit Glasgow I highly recommend the Glasgow Music City Tour. Some cool venue visits and walk the streets of bands from Jesus and Mary Chain, the Vaselines, Belle and Sebastian, Frightened Rabbit, the Pastels, Simple Minds, Primal Screen, Teenage Fanclub, Arab Strap and countless others.

So, this prompted me to do the conversion...UK 24/26. Now I can definitely prove to AP that I am fat and that she and I do *not* wear somewheres about the same sizes.

Women's clothing is such a guessing game. There was a long time that I primarily wore men's clothing. You can like walk in and just buy your size, and it fits, like it actually is standard. And the pockets are real and actually big enough to hold things. I miss real pockets.

Whatever size you are, you look gorgeous,

Pockets! Yes - I have been following a twitter chat about that and one woman had resorted to having her nine your old son carry her phone. Why won’t fashion labels trust women with pockets...

And fake pockets, where you think they’ve given you a pocket and it’s not even a real one...

Also those brands than start their ‘large’ size ridiculously small - I’ve seen some start their Large at a UK 12, extra large at 14... I think it’s absurd we let them get away with telling size 12 women that they are ‘large’...
