Hey all you Londoners and want to be Londoners.

What - if anything - is there to do in/near Dorking? Besides make fun of the name?

Kids these days will never know our struggle to get porn.

The centrefold of my "Health and Efficiency' in brown paper off the top shelf were always stuck together, personally I blame Maltese Mary for standing in her bedroom window silhouetted , it can only have been her, her bf worked in the newsagent and delivered papers. Early day re-cycling!

Get the train into London? :D. Sorry - I’ll leave it to someone more knowledgeable to answer, lovely to see you here though, x

I can take a 4 day weekend somewhere and I can stay at a very nice hotel there for free. But if it’s really fucking lame, then I’ll skip it.

This all seems like without a car, it’s not worth it. Correct assessment?

Personally, I reckon pick a moderately size town/city (or head to London) and pick a show/museum/park to visit on your weekend. You'll not need a car as you'll be central.

Car just means you can cover more ground to see stuff.

Either is fun.

Kind of depends on what you like doing? I wouldn’t think there will be enough in Dorking itself to keep you busy unless you’re really into Antiques. The Surrey hills are on your doorstep with good pubs etc but tricky without a car ( can you take a bike? It’s a big cycling area) There is a vineyard called Denibes which has tours and events. It has got 2 stations and it’s an easy journey into London. Places nearby include Reigate and Guildford and further to Reading and god knows where else

It famously has a large cock on a roundabout.... who wouldn’t want to see that?
