Ah! I have seen the hair pulling thread, I tend not to stray too far in other corners of lit - it can be hard to break into new crowds... I’ve lurked occasionally though, in the shadows...

I am not so worried about the biting - I am quite capable of defending myself if I am inclined... but so many corners of lit feel a bit cliquey... or disproportionately dramatic... or just fake...

So I mostly hide in AMpics or here which seems to attract a similar souls (and also might seem cliquey to someone lurking I suppose...)

It’s a bank holiday here and thus no five-fucking-thirty gym club... and this week I am in a hotel with a pool so it will be six-fucking-am swim club but I like that because it’s often just me and I can pretend I am super wealthy and it’s my private pool ;)

That reminds me, I've just read a good book (novel) that had 'had' (the word) 11 times in a row.

Also I feel like I want to say something nice. Just because Trump was asked 4 times by a reporter to say something about senator McCain. And just sat there.

Not about anyone or anything, just something nice. You know "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all"

They neither do or say anything that makes me want to trust or respect them. And yet a significant proportion of the electorate vote for them and their policies!
