Hello from London!

How is everyone?

Finally home...

Tired... and worn down by the combined forces of MiL and other half and quite fancying a drink but I am trying to give my liver a break so I have resisted...

A good day FF wise so that’s something, fingers crossed Aguero does sweet f-all because almost everyone seems to have captained him... I don’t have him so I am keeping everything crossed for Alonso...

I’d be a rubbish secretary although I did briefly do a bit of audio typing when I first started working... people would dictate these technical reports using a bunch of words I’d never heard of... I had a little pedal to control the tape... I had my favourite dictator for want of a better word because he used to scatter silly jokes throughout... I wasn’t there long because it was a stop gap while I was looking for something I actually wanted to do but they were a nice bunch of people which is generally the most important thing in a job...

That sounds a crap day, AP!

I've always wanted to say: take a letter to someone! I've done office work, didn't so much hate it; filing is relatively easy and avoids contact with people.

Back in the day I Temped in an office near Kew Bridge as a messenger. I picked up a sheaf of papers from a random pigeon hole on day one, walked round the building until 8pm, racking up overtime. Did this for a week. I never delivered anything to anyone in that time and HR (in those day it was Personnel) signed off my timesheet without question. Those were happy, boring times.

Next week I am closer to home for a couple of days and only doing London day trips which means a rare treat of a whole week in my own bed... I am excited to be having a few more home cooked meals, I had perhaps been in denial about how much I have missed that while eating in hotels...

I hope we haven't upset anyone!

I did temp job of walking around a factory picking up pegs (clip exhausts on to conveyor belt for spraying), eight hours of boredom!

Never underestimate home cooking! Although, eating in hotels has benefits: someone else washes up!

I didn’t realise how much I was missing it until I did the malyalsian aubergine with coconut rice the other night... general routine has been three nights in hotels, one night having chip shop chips which is MiL’s only remaining pleasure, and then the remaining nights I try to use what we have in but my other half frequently buys me a veggie ready meal or two when he does the shopping... I’ve missed actually planning a meal a scratch...

Currently about to eat a healthy breakfast (soya yogurt, fresh berries and muesli since you ask...) and about to start looking at my many cookbooks. A mistake to start with Terre a Terre though... proper food porn involving way too many processes...

No pic. I just finished off a deceased avocado on vegemite toast. Winter approaches, who remembers a tsp of malt extract along with the porridge. Post war mothers knew how to look after their sprogs.

I’ve never had avocado and marmite together... now I must try... sounds weird...

No to porridge... we didn’t really have porridge growing up that I remember, I have it now - it’s often my go to breakfast in the hotel but they have those pots you fill and it’s a hot water tab rather than a kettle, takes ages to stir the lumps out... then I fill the reminder of the pot with fruit chunks... reviting insight into my life there...

Porridge. Ahh! Must get porridge on next shop!

Food porn is the way to go! Need to get more cook books, only have one that is 365 soups, some of the soups are a bit odd! I usually do leek and potato, mushroom, and occasionally (due to the smell) sprout soup.

Just don’t go too far the other way...

A shelfie of three of my eleven shelves dedicated to cook books - too much really but I already have my eye on some more if Father Christmas wants to treat me :D

None of those look like they've been dropped in the bath. ;)

Ha! No - I don’t read my cook books in the bath ;)

In other news - all recipes should come with an instruction to check your lipstick / tie... :D

Checking lipstick / tie ... important when eating fine food. Dress to accompany the food, the occasion.

Lol I always wondered what to do while the potatoes boiled. I used to check on tumblr, but had to many accidents. Potato water makes a mess of the hob. :D

That description is pure food porn. The one part that is missing: take your partner by the hand and kiss deeply before having a night to remember (one that you'll post on literotica) ...

Potato water! Spilling my 'potato water' anywhere makes a sticky mess, that's why my recipes are usually on laminated cards

I’ve settled on Middle Eastern ratatouille for Sunday lunch - I’m making enough to heat up the leftovers tomorrow when I will probably be exhausted from doing London as a day trip...

Side note - I really shouldn’t be allowed to shop alone... I bought a pot of tiny roses because who else is buying me flowers? (get the tiny violins out...) and two pairs of new superhero knickers because what else can you buy for three quid which raises as much of a smile?
