Hello fellow literotica writers

Maybe not right away. :D

The new messaging system is not related to the forum software at all. The forum uses pretty old software and the stuff we are working on for the main Lit site is all new technology. It made sense for us to create a totally new messaging system for the site, rather than using the one here in the forum.

Eventually, the forum may be more integrated into the site, but it wasn't a priority in the first set of major updates that we're working on. Our priority has been on improving the overall experience for both authors and readers on the main site.

Maybe someday! :D

Good luck with the upgrade. I can understand that it'd now be difficult to merge the forum into the main site.

Thank you! We are really excited about the upgrades.

A big part of what we are trying to accomplish is to create a better way for authors and readers to interact. I don't mean interact in a strictly "feedback" way, though that is part of it. I mean, we want authors to be able to build a strong following of readers who are interested in their work (already published and future work). And we want readers to be able to more easily find - and then follow - authors whose work is of interest to them.

Our goal for the new version is to greatly strengthen the relationships between Lit readers and authors. The concept of Literotica has always been self publishing mixed with community, and we are hopeful that these upcoming changes will improve both community interaction and the self publishing experience.

Just pray that the servers don't burst into flames when we switch the public BETA on for the first time. :D

That's a really great tool for those of us who don't want to set up any type of social media or a blog to get readers to know what we're up to.

I look forward to this.

This sounds really good. Is there a format or model you're using for the beta site?

Literotica authors regularly contact us asking how they can reply to reader feedback without sharing their email address. The old way is to simply create a dedicated Gmail account for interacting with readers. That protects your privacy and separates your "real" email address from your Lit work.

Not as well as you might expect. Apologies to those who've already heard this story...

I created a Gmail account under a fake name specifically for Literotica purposes. I set my everyday real-name email address (not on Gmail) as the account recovery email. Any time somebody emails my real-name address, Google "helpfully" fills in the name from my Literotica Gmail account, and then I have to explain to relatives and co-workers why it's substituting a name they've never encountered. I never asked Gmail to do this; it just decided that the name attached to my Gmail must be the one I want to share with the whole world, even when they're mailing me at a non-Gmail address.

So if you're doing this, pick a Gmail name that you don't mind friends and family seeing (e.g. probably not your Literotica user name!)
