Johnny Carson, the ''Tonight Show'' TV host who served America a smooth nightcap of celebrity banter, droll comedy and heartland charm for 30 years, has died. He was 79.

Oh dear, really? I hadn't heard. I've got the pre-game on and there's been no news. This is sad to hear.

That's sad....from what I ever saw of him while in Oz he was a gentleman of class and style with a wealth of life in the public eye to share with those who were interesting and interested.

I'll always remember feigning being scared of the dark and getting into bed with mom and dad and peeking out under the covers to watch The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Those were good times, until they caught on and booted me back to my own bed!
