"Heavy Lifting Poems" by: Drake, and Vailyn #2

Resonance

I really liked this one. Of the four I've read written by you. There is nothing I would want to change. It is simple and touching.

re Fared Too Well

I just thought I might talk about this a little. Firstly, it's somewhat humorous. The first letters of each line form the reply to the question posed at the end, although that question is also indicative of the state of being after many relationships.

Fared too well

History's mostly composed of farewells, and
Eventually life catches up with
Affairs of gourmet abandon.
Vociferus taunts, out of memory.
Youth's trim me asking: "How are you now?"

The farewells in the first line and the affairs of the third can refer both to interaction with people, as well as dinners. Think of people going away/living work/ etc lunches and dinners, etc.

We change, and we have to eventually face that we've changed. And that is the question. After all you've done, all the indulgences and all the pain: How are you now?

re Resonance

I was listening to Roby Lakatos playing Schindler's List while writing this poem. I think I caught some of it.

I was also playing with the concepts of repetition to give the poem structure, rather than rhyme, although it ended up having even more structure within the first six lines anyway. But I also liked the near-repetition of 'alone' echoing 'a lone' at the end.
This is probably the poem I enjoy most out of the four, but then I have the melody in my head as well :)
