health question

okay... I was fine all day. Now I have a sore throat.. but it's not your typical sore throat. My throat started out typically sore... and then... it got worse.. and now, part of my throat is numb, while another feels like this big, swollen mass that I just can't get rid of. It's dry, and it hurts to swallow, but it still feels kinda numb.. like I've got sawdust in my throat... and... my airways are constricting some. I used my inhalor, in case this was an asthmatic reaction to something, but it hasn't helped.

Anyone know what it might be?
Anyone know how to help?

sounds like a possible allergic reaction to something..

if you are asthmatic you shouldn't mess around with it.. you should go to the ER.

I had a teacher die in high school from an asthma attack.. they aren't to be messed with.

It could also be a strep/staph infection. Again, going to the ER would be recommended.

Take some benadryl right now. If you get Short of Breath go to the ER immediately. Trust me on this. I deal with this daily

I think what worries me the most is.. she is asthmatic.

That shit can kill quick.. with no warning.

I've been raised around it.. My mom, my brother and now two of my kids fight it.

I don't mess around with it..

I had the same thing when I was about 10 or so. Mom took me directly to the medical center and had me checked out. Turned out I had the exact same type of staph infection that killed Jim Henson. So GO!

I'm back. Apparently, it was an allergy. I'm being put on steroids for 2 days to ... I dunno, I'm half asleep.... but we don't know what the allergy was. Could have been incense my roommate was burning.. could have been the coolaid or green tea that I drank right before it happened... we don't know. So yeah.

our hospitals tend to put respiratory problems up there with higher emergencies. And I was in the hospital for 2 and a half hours. I got there, waited about 45 mins, got admitted, waited a while longer, a nurse saw me, waited a while longer, and a doc saw me.
