My 2 year old is in the hospital. I've been there since 6PM last night and just came home to shower before going back. (His father is with him now). He has a stomach virus that's caused him to not be able to hold anything down so he became dehydrated (sp?). They had originally expected him to only be there over night and home today but he refuses to drink or eat and the 8oz of liquid he did take today all came back up this evening.

So all healing thoughts are apreciated.

Thanks

Sending get well wishes to your son and big hugs to you and your family :rose:

Caria,

I hope that your son will be up and about very quickly. I'll keep him, as well as you and your family, in my thoughts and prayers, Caria.

Please take care of yourself, too, because he'll need all of your strength when he gets home.

Hugs to you.

As a mother of two small children, I'm sending all my healing thoughts your way.

I will burn sage and cedar and my prayers will be carried on the wings of the eagle to the Creator for a quick recovery of your little one.

Get the hospital to check for a liver/stomach virus. My youngest, then just turned 12 had a similar thing. She ended up loosing 18 pounds in 9 weeks. It can be a serious matter when they loose so much so quickly. Im sure an iv has been put in, as for one so young it is vital for fluids to be kept up.

Take some time out for yourself, even if just a few minutes, to regroup, and focus.

Sincerely hope that all goes well for your son, and he will soon be back in your loving arms and back home where he belongs.

Caria,

As I am typing this to you, I am concentrating the healing energy channelled through me, on your child. My fingertips got very hot as I was concentrating, and I sense that your child is nearing a turning point where healing is or will be happening very soon.

I am also sending you and the rest of your family many positive thoughts. Please take care of yourself............your energy will be needed when the family is all home together again. I am also sending you a mental hug..............

My youngest boy is three and my oldest is 19. I had almost forgotten how frightening my first child's sicknesses were until I had to relive them with the baby. They say a human is never more helpless than during those times when they must stand and watch and worry over their sick babies - you and I know how true that is.

Caria, things will work out. If you feel the need to talk with someone whose been there, let me know.

My little guy did an appendectomy at the age of 4. He spent the rest of his visit under the eyes of the ICU nurses. It was, after the fact, rather unremarkable, but leading up to it the time was full of apprehension, and it was very wierd to see him tooling around the next day with an IV hookup on a cart, but to him it all seemed reasonable and normal, evidently. He'd been sick, and this was part of healing.

I'm not sure that's relevant, and I know reasoning with 2 year olds is not exactly trivial...

Help him see this as something which will pass, and lend him your strength, knowing our best wishes go with you.

My thoughts are with you and for your child. Is there something he isn't wanting to keep inside?

Caria,

I know your are very busy. But I am wondering how your son is doing. He is okay right?

Still in my thoughts. Praying for the best.

Thank you all for your well wishes and healing thought / prayers. This is the first time I've been back near a computer since my original post because I was sleeping at the hospital.

He's doing better now and was released this evening. It's going to be SOOOOO nice to finally sleep in my own bed. I'm still in for a long week or two but at least he's well enough to be home now. He has a intestinal (sp?) virus that seems to be pretty common but he took it worse then most. They admitted him Friday night expecting to just run liquids through the IV over night and send him home on Saturday. Unfortunitly he still couldn't hold anything down Saturday or Sunday. They removed the IV Sunday night only to have to put a new one in yesterday because he wouldn't drink or eat anything. Last night he finally started to eat and drink without puking it all back up. They say now I have about a week of diareha (sp?) to deal with before he's back to his usual self.

Again, thank you all for caring! :)

Thank goodness............positive thoughts for your whole family.........I am so happy he is on the mend and you are home now...........

Glad to hear things are going better. More positive thoughts your way to help you through this week :)

Pleased to hear all is well. I've had a few worrying times in hospital with my kids when they've eaten caustic soda or lacerated their bums.
Sometimes it's even tooo stressful to have randy thoughts about the nurses.
Take care
