Alek Gygax is a 6’5” tall dark brown hair and brown eyes. He is a slim but muscular man that weights 265 lbs. He was in the employ of a mercenary group that was hired to bolster the ranks of a rebels that oppose the treatment of magical beings. The group was comprised of foot soldiers. Alek favorite weapon is the great sword his is a very special sword because it is bigger than normal if he puts it on his back the tip of the sword is barely of the ground. Alek hates being a mercenary but it paid well and if he survived it could lead to early retirement.

He was standing on the precipice of the battle field and he was filling will nervousness because this battle was said to be the deciding battle for the war between the rebels and the kings oppressive forces. The battle field was in a clearing that laid beside a forest that has magical beings in it. Alek heard the call to the enemy troops to charge and then he heard the call for his side’s archers to fire. He saw the wall of arrows fly through the sky then strike the charging enemy. After the arrows hit their targets he hears the call for their charge and he takes off with the rest of the troops. The initial slam of the two fronts had a sound of metal hitting shields and flesh. Soon the two fronts morphed into one singular blob of men hacking away at each other. Alek had a little bit of a hard time swinging his sword around because of the lack of space but he managed to take a few of the enemy with his hits. He was enthralled in the battle when he felt a sharp pain in his side just above his armor. Then he soon felt blood running down his side and he turns to see who had stabbed him to feel someone take a war hammer to him knocking him to the ground. He could feel that his chest was on fire and seen that his armor was heavily damaged and a huge dent with holes poked through was centered on his chest. After some time Alek wasn’t able to stay awake and he passed out just from the pain itself. He hoped that the apothecaries would come and pick him up off the field so that he wouldn’t die but in the back of his mind he knew that mercenaries weren't regarded with the same sympathy as regular troops.

Taurlokte sighed as Ithicorak ran on ahead of her, seeming full of more energy than normal on his usual walk in the fading dusk.

They were just nearing the part of their path that ran close to the forest’s boundary when Ithicorak bolted for the edge of the woods, her calls to the cathhuar to come back being ignored, which worried her as she’d heard rumors the humans had fought a battle just beyond the forest. And sure enough as she followed after him, she heard his haunting howl that his kind was known for, signalling he had found or run into something of note.

Sure enough, as she broke from the trees, there before her lay spread out the scattered and strewn battlefield from the human’s war…. and standing several yards in, on the rise of a hill, her pet waited and glanced back towards her. So she hurried over to him, picking her way and ignoring the terrible carnage about her, wondering what would attract her pet to here, and finding him standing by a large warrior among several other corpses. Ready to ask him if he was going loopy to run onto a field of corpses, she was surprised as the warrior made a stirring movement, indicating he wasn’t a corpse.

The man was alive?!

Though not familiar was war and battles, she still found it odd, for she was under the impression that the both side would have removed their injured long before now, and have had plenty of time to search the field for all those hurt. Leaving the injured was not a good idea, for the night brought out the scavengers who lived on the carrion left by war, she thought as she looked to see them at the far edge of the field already returned from the startling cry of her cathhuar. An injured being would have a slim chance to survive till dawn without being found….. and there were more than just the common scavengers to worry about…. her attention shifting to the large shadowed form moving about one spot of the field. Gurthakilyar though carrion eaters preferred the hurt and dying as they fed on their victim’s fear and pain as much as their flesh, and had a great sense for such prize victims.

Kneeling to take a closer look at the warrior, she realized why he had been left, for to human eyes he would have been seen as already dead, his injuries too bad to save him. But they weren’t past her skills…. she hoped..... laying a hand on him and speaking a few low words, which caused a slight glow to flow through him, sealing his wounds and strengthening him body enough to hopefully move him safely.

She stood and turned to Ithicorak, waving a hand over him and speak a few more words, causing him to grow to over three times his size, then told him to kneel as she attempt to drag the man onto her pets back. But as she moved him she found he still have a hold on a large sword, a grip him didn’t seem willing to release even in unconscious, so she had to drag it too on to the cathhuar’s back, as she wanted to get him out of there before the gurthakilyar caught scent of him.

With one more string of words, a rope appeared tying the warrior securely and she struck Ithicorak’s flank to send him running back to the woods and on towards home…… quickly moving for the forest’s edge herself as the dark shape started to move in her direction. Risking a glance back as she reached the woods border, she saw the gurthakilyar looking her way, not sure if it smelled the warrior’s scent but watched it finally turn away, not willing to ignore a free feast for one not as sure in battling a possibly capable target.

Breathing a sigh of relief, Taurlokte turned to start the long walk back home……

Alek could feel some strength return to his body but it wasn't enough for him to open his eyes at the moment. He could also feel someone try to take his weapon out of his hand and knew it wasn't go anywhere because of his training. The training stressed keeping his weapon in his hand until he died. the only thing that could have removed the sword was a magical being that knew how to manipulate the body of humans.

He could feel himself being hoisted up onto a very large animal's back and he couldn't help but to wonnder how strong the person was that was moving him because he was in pretty heavy armor.

He awoke in a bed covered in bandages and he hoped that who ever had helped him wasn't someone who just fixed people up just to turn them in for any rewards that just happens to be offered. He looked around for any sign of life in the room and he started to get out of the bed when his foot his a ball of fur. He looked down to see a creature he hadn't really seen before and the creature was looking back at him. He didn't know what to do and he was afraid to make any sudden moves because he didn't know if the creature's owner had placed it there to make sure he didn't escape.

He was about to call out to someone to see if there was anyone near by until the creature had jumped into the bed with him. He slowly moved his hand onto the animal's head and he began to pet it. Alekwas happy that the animal was at least somewhat friendly. He couldn't believe that an animal that he didn't really know just jumped into the bed with him like they had knew each other for ever. The friendlyness wasn't a new thing to him seeing how just about any animal was friendly no matter how it acted towards others. He laid back on the bed no longer worrying about being attacked by the animal. He felt the animal move in closer to him hitting one of the cuts on him. He let out a groan then said "easy there I'm hurt you know" roughly petting the beast.

"Hey is there anyone here?" He shouted wondering if he was left alone with he beast as an alarm incase anything got worse in the term of Alek's injuries. He didn't hear anything or anyone say anything so he just laid there with the beast beside him hoping that the person who helped him out by treating his injuries. He took another look around the room and seen a bunch of magical looking items around and then wondered if who ever helped him out tried magic thus the bandages were incase the magic didn't take making the injuries open themselves up.

He could feel his stomach rumble aand growl loud enough to even get the beast's in his bed attention. He finally decided to get up and see if there was anyone home when he heard the door opening. He felt the beast beside him hope off the bed and set on the floor beside the bed again. He looked at the animal and thought to himself "hummm it must have been told not to be in the bed with me." He waited nervously to see who was behind the door hoping that who ever it was is friendly. When he seen the figure walk through the door he was stunned that it was a beautiful woman. "He still waited for her to say something to him so that he could gauge her intent.

Taurlokte sigh as she collected the herbs she needed, still feeling the strain in her muscles after a few days from having to move her ‘guest’ about. His size and metal armor had made it a miracle she’d been able to drag him on Ithicorak’s back, even with him kneeling/laying down low for her, and even after getting his armor off, it had been a chore getting him into the bed and bandaging him.

Then she thought, it was a great surprise and mystery how he was still alive. Her healing skills were better than any human’s, why they had left him for dead she assumed, but even for her his wounds had been bad, taking a combo of spells to stop the bleeding and goodly amounts of healing salve on the wounds before bandaging them and a bit of a curative soup down his throat….. but his own stamina was amusingly good for a human, even with his size.

Another strange thing was Ithicorak’s attraction to him, for the Cathhuar normally disliked others, but she had not had to tell him to watch the warrior for her, as he hung around the bed constantly….. very odd. She best hurry back too as she wasn’t sure what the warrior’s reaction might be Ithicorak’s appearance, the mix of hound and cheetah like form and it’s brown with green colored hide.

As she climbed to her tree bound home and entered, she glanced towards the bed room, seeing the Cathhuar still lying by the bed, but she was surprised to see the warrior awake and looking at her.

“You had better not move around too much Sir, your wounds are still pretty bad despite my care of them.” She told him, setting her bag of herb on a nearby table.

She pushed her copper colored mane of hair behind her, and brushed off her knee length tunic, before walking slowly into the bedroom. “How are you feeling?” She asked, sitting lightly on the bed edge and petting the Cathhuar as he sat up beside her.

Alek waited for her to set down before he said "I will be fine don't worry about me my lady and you also don't have call me sir my name is Aleck. I feel hungry to be honest with you miss." He looked down to make sure he was still in some pants or something covering himself up so that this woman wouldn't see his manhood. He was glad to see that he still had some pants on.

"That must be your pet what is it's name? More importantly what is it? He asked looking at the beast that the woman was petting. He seen that it's ears had perked up a bit and it looked like it wanted to walk over to him but it was torn between not leaving its master's side and coming over to him. He soon heard his stomach call out for food again. He always had an almost insatiable hunger when ever he had gotten himself hurt.

"Thank you for helping me out by taking care of me miss" he said starting to feel his hunger pains set in or at least he thought that it was hunger pains. "How long was I out for?" He asked truly wondering how long he was out for. He seen the beast shift before getting up again and moving in front of him and he reached out and started to pet the beast. The animal brought back memories of his snow wolf named Ankinto. The wolf wasn't any magical beast the wolves got their breed names because of their snow white fur. In the Viking clan he belonged to but wasn't born into there was an rule if you wanted a pet you must be able to tame it yourself without help. Alek didn't have a problem in this department be Ankinto was friendly to him like any animal was. They both grew up together to their respective adult hoods but Alek out lived his companion.
