It all depends on the headache.

The accu-pressure point in the webbing of the thumb and index finger (either hand) will work for stress or tension headaches.

A cold rag over the eyes will work for eye-strain headaches.

A hot rag over the eyes works for some sinus headaches.

I've never tried the magnets on the temples for any kind of headache, so I can't say whether it works or not. I do know that magnets work just fine on lower back pain, and foot pain, so I'm sure it will work on the right kind of headache.

As far as pain relievers, I personally prefer Excedrin's formula of half Tylenol and half aspirin with caffeine, but it does nothing for my eldest daughter. She uses Advil or Motrin.

If it's a recurring headache, a doctor's advice is the right answer. Pain is your body's way of saying something is wrong. If you know what's causing the pain then no big thing. (i.e. eyestrain from reading all of the messages here.) Otherwise, find out what the cause is, and then you'll know how to treat it.

(PS The elevated heart rate and blood pressure from an orgasm just might make the headache worse. I know that's the case with some of my headaches.)

chamomile tea....or
beak open a stalk of aloe and apply to your forehead.

I've suffered from migraines since I was 8 years old. I've taken everything possible from asprin to Vicodin and nothing helps me more than cold water from the tap pouring directly on the back of my neck. Yup, it's a little uncomfortable at first especially when it's cold in the house but it works wonders for me.
