With the remake of Planet of the Apes coming out later this week, I've been watching a few movies by its director, Tim Burton. The guys got a style that few current mainstream directors can match, in my opinion. Anyway, what's your favorite Tim Burton movie?

I love all of them... and didn't he do "Nightmare Before Christmas" as well? Another great one...

I chose "Sleepy Hollow" because I've always enjoyed the story, and he did a beautiful job retelling it.

Batman.

I'm a comic book freak, so naturally I'd have to go with that.

His rendition of Batman I believe was as close as anyone has gotten, save for the first two superman movies, to how the character should actually be portrayed on the silver screen.

Edward Scissorhands.

What a great movie that one is.
There's nothing like it, nothing even close.
He got a freak to be human, sympathetic, and sexy too - yet he still remained a freak. Now THAT'S skill.

Fuzzy logic

Didn't he also do "James and the Giant Peach"?

Definatly a great movie. But I had to leave some off to make room for the "other" and "don't like his stuff" options. The guy rarely makes a bad movie, so I kinda had too many movies to choose from to fit the poll options. :D

Mensa, he produced it, but (if I remember right) he didn't write or direct the movie. But I guess it counts as one of his own.

Beetlejuice

The disruption of the dinner with a redition of "Day-o" and the attack of the killer shrimps cocktails was one of the great moments in movie history.

The Nightmare Before Christmas gets my vote. Must have watched that one a hundred times.

Renegade, I picked Beetlejuice... because everyone I know likes that movie.

;)

Just picked up Mars Attacks last week... found it in the $5 bin at Wal-Mart.

I liked it... lots of big name stars in some really strange roles. Lots of ugly little aliens disintegrating everything in sight. Goofy Tim Burton humor.

What's not to like?

Just for the record....

I voted for Beetlejuice. Loved the "Day-o" scene in that one. On a weird note: It was also the movie that made me realize the fact of death occuring.

I picked Edward Sizzorhands as the movie in that list that I could see again and again. I thought they were all great - except Mars Attacks, which was just OK...

You left Nightmare Before Christmas off the list, however - and had it been on that list it would have been a tough choice for me between that and Edward Sizzorhands.

Beetlegeuse...Beetlegeuse...Beet..........

(Myst, your avi looks like Winona in Beetlegeuse.)

Guess you know mine eh?

Nightmare Before Christmas gets my vote .. would even make my list of favorite movies. Sleepy Hollow was good, just not as original as Nightmare. Edward Scissor hands what genius. Beetle Juice a laugh riot. But they still can't top Nightmare Before Christmas.

Tim Burton did Batman? You learn something new every day I guess.

1 - Batman
2 - Nightmare before Christmas

*Makes mental note to add Nightmare Before Christmas in EVERY movie poll from now on*

;)
