Have you ever forgotten how old you are?

For the last couple of months I've been living under the assumption that I'm twenty-seven. Then someone asked me how old I'll be on my next birthday and I stopped and suddenly realized that I'm only twenty-six.

What the fuck is that? I think I've started the long, slow decline.

It happened to me every year from 24 on. One of my friends kept reminding me how old I actually was. Now that I'm thirty, a milestone age, I don't forget anymore. It was fun on my 29th, thinking I was turning thirty and realizing a few days before that no, I'm only 29. :)

I've had that happen!

At this point I'm just a slight infraction from being institutionalized.

OH, yeah. When I was at the Doctor's Office,(or some damn place,)this attendant asked my age,(I JUST had a birthday.) I said, "22..no, 23. Sorry." I was so embarrassed.

I take it you posted this thread just to annoy old farts like me? Ones who can't remember numbers as high as our age?

:p

Oh yeah..I turn 40 in October.......but I have been telling people that I'm 40 for six months or so.

Darn, you figured me out.

Actually, it's even worse. I've had my son's age off by a year too. I'd better cut back on the tequila, I think.

Yes, you may have lost a brain cell or two. I'm always terrified I'll lose the one with my address on it & wander around for days.

I can beat you all. A few years ago I was at a family gathering, I hear my father and an aunt talking in another room. hmmmm Did I just hear my name? Yep, there it is again. I wander over to them and my father asks, "How old are you?" To which I reply 24.
My father and my aunt both start laughing, well they were both wrong.

Later in the evening, my father comes up to me and says, "I asked your mother you are not 24, you're 26! I was so confused... I start counting, and sure enough yep, I was 26 at the time. How in the hell did I lose 2 years?

Hell, I lost the three years I spent at Marquette U. Don't recall hardly any of them. In fact, thats where I lost a number of brain cells, too.

hell, i got so drunk night before last i forgot my name. forgetting your age is easy if you try real hard.:D

I didn't know to ask, hon. I thought I knew. I USED to know these things.

Silly me. Can't remember a thing anymore.

Who are you anyway?

I generally say I'm 24, but I don't actually turn 24 for another 2 months.

However, there are times when people will ask me how old I am and I'll reply "22....no...wait...23"

Or I've blithely walked around thinking I'm 22

In actuality, as of today, I am 23.

37 years ago I decided that 25 was a suitable age to be,so I've been 25 ever since.

A decision I've never regretted.

Not forgotten, no. I do start practicing the age I'm going to be 2 months before my birthday, though. I figure that way I'll be resigned to the fact that I'm yet another year older by the time my birthday does come around.

What a coincindence this thread came up.

Even though I've only been 23 for a month now, for some strange reason I keep thinking I'm 24. I've even told someone I've been 24.

Oh well I'm still plenty young...I still get carded when I go to buy cigarettes.

Youth is really a state of mind.

Somedays I feel like I'm in my thirties, others I feel like a teenager.

You get to pick your age? Damn, nobody ever told me.

Another decision to make.
