As above, if you have:

Did you have any problems?

What about financial and credit issues? Does your credit history follow you? Do you need a new SSN?

Is there a record of old and new? If someone searches your old name, do they get the new name in state or federal documents?

I doubt that you can erase your history. I have never changed my name but recently applied for a new drivers license in a new state. It specifically asked if I had ever changed my name and all the other names I have used in the past.

I have actually, once, but I was under the age where'd I'd have had any previous history requiring all but the most basic changes. And a second time I almost did, even paid the $65 to the county. I dodged the issues you're concerned with.

I don't know he can help you with legal name change issues, but talk to Bob Chansen. He knows a lot about changing names to obscure his history.
